At the May Day rally in Liverpool today, holding the Socialist Party banner. And unfortunately, one would not think they were at a May Day event! Almost all that was being held up on the march were Palestine flags, not a single chant mentioned the working class (that I could hear) A minuscule organisation behind our comrades were chanting ‘let every single migrant in, throw reform voters in the sea’ Most of the ‘red’ was on the Palestine flags. And of course, solidarity with the Palestinians is important, so is anti racism, but the complete lack of a class orientation reflects the hostile class forces which stand behind some of these groups Some incredibly posh accents; the only young scousers around us were in the Socialist Party’s contingent. I'm sure others who attended were similarly disappointed. Let's hope next year’s march has more union banners and socialist slogans!

Every Saturday in liverpool we have at least 2 campaign stalls across the city. That doesn't include mid week stalls at the universities and paper sales at train stations and so on. True we do even more when we have an election but I'm not sure if that's a critique! Criticise the Socialist Party for all you like but when speaking to members in liverpool you can not say we aren't visible! If we are certainly anything it is that!
