Seems that way to outsiders and the umpteen gazillion guests that come through every year. In actuality, for members it’s a small tight knit group of golfers. Chad and the entire team does a great job of making you feel like you are at home. One of only two clubs where everyone knows me (and acts like it).

As a kid, nearby Roanoke Virginia was the headquarters for not one but TWO Fortune 500 companies:
- Norfolk Southern Railroad
- Advance Auto Parts
For a city of 100,000 people in rural SW Virginia, we punched well above our weight.
But then they both moved away. Why?
There are different contributing factors, but I feel the local and state government viewed them as a cash cow that would never leave. They were taken for granted.
Then other municipalities made them a much sweeter deal, and they left. Local politicians were left sputtering.
$6B in economic activity walked out the door and out of the state. And the city is frozen in place. No growth.
Collectivists and bureaucrats never think that wealthy corporations or individuals will get fed up and leave until the day they do.

I need verdicts on a couple of questionable SiriusXM programming choices: "Electric Avenue" by Eddy Grant on First Wave and Rush's "Working Man" on Ozzy's Boneyard. I think I'd give a thumbs down to both as inappropriate for their respective channels. But what say you?
