Kimi's CEO🇨🇳 says every AI lab has the wrong obsession Zhilin Yang, on why K3 beat the frontier: "Every lab, like Claude, thinks the model matters most. That's wrong. It's how you organize the people building it that wins." Then Moonshot proved the philosophy. K3 sold out every plan on purpose, cutting their own revenue instead of throttling existing users. When Anthropic hit that wall in April, they cut users' usage 50% at peak. His one big idea: long context is the AI era's RAM. The 128K-to-gigabytes jump, compressed into 2 years instead of 40. The real moat: "your biggest advantage, perhaps your only advantage, is your organization." Model, or the team behind it: which actually wins?

@signulll You are missing one key thing, China is years behind with compute. This isnt like aluminum where they owned the smelters we do,and by the time they build the capacity to go it on their own they are already in the dust.. poof

absolutely remarkable. china spent decades compressing american manufacturing margin but that was never infinitely reproducible & the marginal price is never ~zero. the chinese are effectively burning american capitalism to the ground.

@pauldacity @LowIQ_HighBBQ @thegroyped @OrwellNGoode To be fair, we have to completely understand consciousness to make a solid claim, it's all hypotheticals. That includes your claim, being the exact same being, that sounds more fantastical than a copy. What if I teleport you but I never disassemble the original?

The Few Bets That Matter
The Few Bets That Matter@WealthyReadings·
Space has been rough lately. Leaders are holding. $RKLB and $PL still above key support, uptrends intact. Any bounce there is just continuation. Some weak ones got exposed: $LUNR and $BKSY lost their supports. Weakness is weakness, even on thin summer volume. There's enough momentum divergence to expect a bounce, but a bounce after losing support is just a bounce, not a return of strength. Strong names don't lose their key supports to begin with. That's the tell on what to hold, buy & cut.

$SPCX wasn't the space top. It was just a clean excuse for traders to take profit. Now everyone's panicking over -50% drawdowns while those stocks are hitting key trendlines. You stayed patient for months while everyone pumped their bags. Now the real opportunity is forming and no one's talking about it. Everyone wants the pump, no one wants the retest. But it's only good if it hurts.

And here I am, sitting around like a moron, waiting for a prolonged wave 3 for #Ethereum $PLTR and China that hasn’t even started yet and feels like it would never start. The same moronic feeling I had with $PLTR at $6, $TQQQ in the 20s, $SOFI at $4, $TSLA at $100, $HOOD at $12, #Bitcoin at 15700, $IREN at $4, $WULF at $5, $CIFR at $3, $SHOP at $50, $AFRM at $20… and when Michael Burry said sell in January 2023.

$RKLB $ASTS Both have had all gains wiped out. Momentum stocks are great to own on the way up, but incredibly risky to own when the narrative changes. If I were a holder, the primary worry would be that they simply don’t have the earnings to set a price floor.

@jbulltard1 I think many of you don't understand that this is actually desired by the AI firms. This is how they cement themselves as companies that can never fail, never disappear. They become more important than Apple and MSFT.

I have been trying to find something meaningful to say about the Id Software layoffs. My “Microsoft will probably be a good steward of the brand” statement isn’t aging well, and this is certainly going to dampen the mood of the founder reunion at QuakeCon next month. I’m saddened, but I can’t muster anger or outrage over it. I don’t have access to the books, but I suspect that Id Software was a marginal business from Microsoft’s perspective. I believe the reports that Minecraft revenues have been carrying several other studios. To continue being produced long term, games need to succeed, not just be beloved. Games are competing with every other option for spending your leisure time and money, and the competition is brutal. You can’t rule out the possibility that executives are idiots, but that shouldn’t be your default belief. I don’t think there is any obvious path that would have doubled the revenue from Id games. Could they have gotten more with a different pricing strategy? Could they have created more things for fans to buy? Could they have cost effectively marketed in a way that reached more players that would have loved and bought the games? Could they have changed the game designs and broadened the appeal to more players without alienating existing ones? Could they have produced the games at a lower cost, faster or cheaper? I really don’t know. The game isn’t over yet, and I hope the studio rallies through.

@realroseceline The post you reshared basically said it. Messi is the goat and he's not an athlete that could do well in any other sport. Anyway, whenever Americans talk about football it's very apparent you just don't get it. GL on the next world cup and enjoy your homegrown sports.

@33Valleys @FrostyFinances Ultimately there's no solution to wealth disparity if you focus only on the money. It should start with the family, crime, education, the right mentors and tutors. That's why 1M each will not do anything. It's like pouring water through a sieve.

@Mindventure_ @FrostyFinances But somewhat true. If everyone has it, and is spending freely, supply gets used up and costs go up. By end of the waves of spending, the level of poor would be much more than previously.

I'm a firm believer that if we gave everyone in America $1M each today, in 20yrs we would still have the same wealth disparity & social construct we have today. Nothing will change. There's dumbasses (broke), there's educated & common sense'rs (millionaires) , and there's builders (billionaires). Everyone fits into one of these three categories.

A Brown professor gave his students a take-home midterm exam. After suspecting many cheated using AI, he made the final in-person. The orange dots are the midterm scores and the gray dots are the final scores. Looks like all but 3 cheated on the midterm.
