Namibia retains AGOA benefits following U.S. review The United States has confirmed that Namibia will retain its eligibility for the African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA) benefits, alongside 31 other African nations, following the program's annual review. 1/2. A SADC Leather Sector Stakeholder Workshop took place in Windhoek from 19-20 February 2024, attended by private and public sector representatives who engaged in lively discussions on how to localize the regional leather policy in Namibia.

2/2. @MinistryofIT Minister Hon. Lucia Iipumbu said “Industrialization is an agenda that is frontloaded in Namibia, SACU & SADC and leather is 1 of the growth key sectors.” The EU contributes € 18m to the SIPS Programme aimed supporting industrialization & productive sectors.
