@Plinz @OpenAI @janleike There are more options than "no AI" and "AI literally as fast and as unsafe as possible", such as "safer, more aligned AI a few years/decades later." The cost of the latter is a blip on cosmic scales and increases our chances of a good outcome significantly.

Although shocking at first glance, this is unsurprising to me - normal people know that building AI much more powerful than humans could spell disaster. Even @OpenAI’s alignment head @JanLeike thinks there’s a 10-90% chance we all die! So why don’t we just stop building AGI?

Why are some Chelsea fans moaning about us maybe signing another young talent (Matheus França)? This money is basically coming from an entirely different budget than the one for first team players. No, not all of these young players will make it, many probably won’t, but we have a better system in place now to make sure the ones that don’t make it we will still profit from. If your issue is signing these 17 & 18 year old talents may hurt the academy because young English talent might stop choosing Chelsea because they know they’ll eventually be replaced, that’s a different issue, but I’m not seeing that be people’s issue anyway. So calm down, we WILL sign class players for the first team this summer. We will.
