It simply stops the government from taking an interest-free loan from your paycheck every pay period. You’re just getting your own money sooner.

What all these “just pay the taxes in California” posts have in common is that they ALL showcase California nature/weather. NOT A SINGLE ONE OF THEM TALKS ABOUT CALIFORNIA SERVICES/INFRASTRUCTURE. You know, things that your taxes are supposed to go to. They all implicitly acknowledge that California is a pure rent extraction state.

I didn’t know having a daughter would feel like getting to meet a smaller, braver, funnier version of myself, someone who carries my weird quirks like treasures instead of flaws.
I love how she brings me rocks, leaves, sticks, bugs & sun warmed flowers. She proves to me every single day that the world is full of magic. And I love to buy her stickers & little trinkets because she receives them with this pure, delighted reverence that reminds me what it felt like to be small & easily enchanted.
I absolutely adore the sweet way she mirrors me with her own unique wild edges. She laughs at what I laugh at & she understands the parts of me I used to hide. I love her oddities with the same tenderness she gives mine.
She is my tiny best friend & my favorite companion in this strange & beautiful life. I feel so fortunate to love her & be loved back in this simple, generous way.

A vendor just emailed us an invoice.
Right logo. Right project. Right invoice number. New bank account.
If we had paid it, $50K is gone. No recovery. No insurance. Just gone.
We got an email a few days later that the vendors email had been hacked.
This is happening to businesses every single day. And it's about to get much worse.
AI is an incredible tool when it's used for good. But it is also a weapon. The same technology helping us underwrite deals and manage portfolios is helping criminals build perfect fraud at zero cost and infinite scale.
The "Nigerian Prince" is dead. He's been replaced by AI that sits inside your vendor's email for months. It watches your payment cycles. It learns your controller's name. It waits for the perfect moment to swap banking info on a real invoice.
It requires vigilance and good processes to not get fooled.
Here are a few basic things we do:
1. Banking info changes = full stop. No exceptions. We stop and we call.
2. Never call the number on the new email. That's the hacker's number. We dig up the old contact info and call someone we already know.
3. Hold payment if there is a bank change. Every updated account gets a mandatory hold and a voice callback to the vendor.
Two-minute phone call costs you nothing. One bad ACH is an expensive mistake.

This Whole Milk campaign was 100% supposed to be a Raw Milk campaign and the Admin’s lawyers had to inform them what a stupid idea that was.

President Trump is right. I for one find it to be very weird that Massie married so quickly after his wife died. Nobody even knows how she died. It was never announced that she was sick or if she died by suicide.
His wife passed away suspiciously, but doesn’t anyone find it to be very bizarre how Massie moved on from his wife of 30 years so fast? Some say he was already dating the woman he’s with before his wife died.
He started dating another woman over 20 years younger than him as soon as his wife died (possibly even before).
And yet Massie is supposed to be some “honorable Christian man”.
I don’t buy it.
Massie doesn’t do anything but undermine Trump.
Everyone needs to get off their high horse and stop pretending like Massie is an honorable man.
I’d like to know how his wife died.
