@Lloyd_Cole Thanks for a magical evening, don't leave it too long. Your voice transcends time, 14 again with my sister, stolen cigarettes and a record player in a suitcase. ❤️

@bbcquestiontime If dentists are trained and then given an incentive, reductions on student debt, to stay working within the NHS would this help?

@Emma_Turner75 Be careful and look who the underwriter is. I’ve had a terrible experience with my current insurance. 6 months after a no fault collision and still no helpful response. Avoid Makerstudy at all costs.

How on earth has my car insurance more than doubled with the same car, no claims and no changes whatsoever to me or the vehicle? Who’s your current/most recent best and cheapest car insurer?

Teachers in Australia are given 1.5 months of long service leave for every 5 years they work in education. You can bank it for a super holiday! i.e 10 years = 3 months! Should this be a worldwide initiative? Could be helpful to keep teachers from burn out/quitting? Thoughts? 🤔

@RealGeoffBarton @paulhaigh @ASCL_UK @RealGeoffBarton as a DT leader I really appreciate you raising this. The subject is so misunderstood by many and seen as leading to trades rather than exciting evolving professions that can shape our world. @DTassoc are currently reaching out to teachers to address this.

“It’s the snooty emphasis on prioritising certain subjects over others that has driven courses such as D&T to the fringes – precisely at a time when our country needs a wider range of skills than our narrow curriculum allows”: my comments ⁦@ASCL_UK⁩: telegraph.co.uk/news/2023/06/2…

Our new Design Studio is open! 🎉 Thanks to funding from @MerciaTrust, we've transformed an old classroom into a vibrant creative space for art, design, & technology. We were honoured to have renowned artist @PeteMcKee officially open the room and spend the afternoon with us.

@philholton1983 @pearson There were many teachers disappointed when the technical awards didn’t get accredited, me included. It seems the most inclusive and also ambitious way forward. ‘recoupling’ at A Level would be great when students are more experienced at designing and making.

@MissVardy @pearson From what I'm seeing yes they should. The D&T teachers we explored this with had mostly logistical questions about this, so we will need to test & trial it.

@philholton1983 @pearson 1/2 Decoupling the designing and making is a great move. The technical awards promised us this way forward but unfortunately government said no. Students could excel in both rather being restricted by designing something and not being able to realise it fully in the time.
