Gen Alpha will be a massive vibe shift, imo. Born to the least neurotic millennials, into the chaos of covid and demographic collapse, there's a chance they'll be the first generation with a truly American level of risk tolerance in a century. Dystopian techno cowboys.

@MourningTalk Honestly, I've barely read him. Blake was my first master. I don't know enough about Jung, but I think Blake would have nothing but scorn for his Active Imagination, as counterintuitive as that may seem.

@MourningTalk I read, or perhaps imagined I read, that Jung dismissed Blake in large part because he consciously created his own mythos in a systematic manner, which didn't fit into Jung's models.

@MisterW00 Yeah briefly. Some of Blake’s writings are consistent with Jung’s “active imagination.” I think there were resonances between them but not perfect.

@MisterW00 I’m actually fairly new to the world of academic papers but I’ve written a couple now and I have to ask things like “did Carl Jung ever write explicitly about the works of William Blake?” Then I have to find out if its answer is correct. But it’s good for that.

@MisterW00 The most I would use AI for is as the most coarse research tool. But everything it says has to be confirmed because it lies.

When reading about Owen Barfield’s evolution unconsciousness, it is easy to forget the fact that Barfield believed our future consciousness will be better than any we have experienced in the past. We are experiencing its birth pains.

@nguyenhdi I would like to say Ben Jonson for the poetry in his plays, but he has not held the stage. Wilde?

A recent conversation makes me wanna ask #BookTwitter: Who's the greatest English playwright after Shakespeare? & who's your favourite? Why?
