@Kate_Dearden But theyre not really. Some wont see a rise till their wage at the end of May.
English

@banks_chef The problem with minimum wage now is it rewards mediocrity and breeds an entitled behaviour.
Minumum wage actually hurts the recipients proportionally more than others.
Tax brackets should change not rates to encourage people to spend money.
English

@therealmissjo Significantly older but we dont go now either, i think the problem is in part due to Hollywood running out of original ideas and there being a wealth of mediocre television available at our fingertips on netflix/amazon etc. As a country we’re lazy and “lockdown” made it worse.

Is this true?
Does anyone have kids at this age?
Are they interested in films, going to the cinema or TV shows?
There used to be crowds of teens at the cinema. Now, I see none but then I go at off-peak times, when I do go, which is rarely.

My kids are 11 and 12. I know this from direct experience, and also asking all their friends: - no interest in movie theaters - no interest in movies at home - no interest in TV shows Hollywood is dead.

@therealmissjo @Telegraph The land of milk and honey…… that just wouldnt wash with the takers.
English

@Telegraph Should have 6 months to find a job.
After that time should have to do unpaid community service for 35 hours per week in exchange for benefits.

@SAhmad153 @Butcher_008 The same walkers that wouldnt walk across the ice incase it cracked and stopped at the waters edge at Hardholm?
English

@Butcher_008 How did they go under water to put chains around him ??
English

@MartinSLewis I seen loads of other peoples transactions and no idea what they were, shame they were my wife
English

Do you use the Lloyds, Bank of Scotland or Halifax apps? People have been messsaging me this morning of being shown other peoples transactions. I want to see how widespread this is. Has it happened to you. If so
a) What are you seeing? Which app.
b) If it is someone elses transactions does it give any of their details too (name, account number etc)?

English

@MitchRangers I can honestly say that I have never known someone to talk about a bunker instead of a worktop! The dressing gown thing I do understand.
English

@therealmissjo Not a clue, just one of those things thats always been that way. Private schooling perhaps, who knows.
Same went i talk about the kitchen worktop.
Parents - worktop
Wife - bunker
Talk about dressing gowns.
Parents - dressing gown.
Wife - housecoat.

@pub_that @allen_m_simpson @UKHospKate @AltonSteven @MerlinFDC4 @dustonlandlady Yeah we’re high volume but low margin so its painful.
English

@MitchRangers @allen_m_simpson @UKHospKate @AltonSteven @MerlinFDC4 @dustonlandlady It’s so unfair…based on turnover and not profit. Although if it was based on profit it would be zero!
English

Can we talk about RR standing up yesterday claiming lowest business rates since 2012 and then publicans are checking rateable values to see increases of nearly 300% from 2026 in some cases? @allen_m_simpson @UKHospKate @AltonSteven @MerlinFDC4 @dustonlandlady

Business rates just jumped from £22k to £86k at The Squirrels. That’s a 291% increase — in one hit. This is how pubs and small businesses fold. Quiet updates, massive impact. #NoDayWasted®
English

@pub_that @allen_m_simpson @UKHospKate @AltonSteven @MerlinFDC4 @dustonlandlady Twice, down to 112k then 95k. Still had to pay for almost 5 years to then get it back again.
English

@MitchRangers @allen_m_simpson @UKHospKate @AltonSteven @MerlinFDC4 @dustonlandlady Did you challenge?
English

@MitchRangers @Serena_Partrick Not sure which tee it is as I always stay in the rough as much as possible when we walk on the course. That view will be one of the few things I miss when I move.
English

@TheMistressRox @Serena_Partrick Looks like the the back of the 18th tee?
