Most men build a life that ends at the funeral. I write for the ones who sense they were made for a bigger story. No cult of self. ☦️Christian. Father. CFO.

🧵For nine hundred years, Florence was a city under the protection of a twelve-year-old girl. Then in 1296 the city quietly demoted her, tore down her cathedral, and built a bigger one on top of her. Most people walking in the piazza today have never heard her name.

@Gentleman_Ways Thanks for the share! I believe we would be kindred spirits with the good Count and could engage in a lively conversation around a few glasses of Châteauneuf-du-Pape.

Every honest conversation with someone wrestling with faith is an opportunity. If you’ve ever wanted tools to explain and defend what you believe, this one's worth your time. We sow the seeds, God brings the growth.

Today, we released our first major book on Kindle, with the print edition coming to Amazon on July 20. It’s called 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘈𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘪𝘴𝘵 𝘊𝘰𝘯𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘔𝘢𝘯𝘶𝘢𝘭. For more than a decade, we’ve spoken with atheists, skeptics, doubters, and people wrestling with the truth of Christianity. Those conversations taught us which answers actually help people overcome their doubts and move closer to Christ. This book brings together those lessons and my own journey into one practical guide designed to help ordinary Christians confidently explain and defend their faith. My mission online has always been to equip Christians with truth, confidence, and charity. Every day has been a blessing from God and another opportunity to point someone toward Christ. Now, we’ve put everything we’ve learned together for you. If you’ve ever wished you had better answers, wanted to defend your faith more confidently, or hoped to help someone searching for the truth, this book was written for you. If this mission resonates with you, pick up the Kindle Edition. I’d be honored to have your support and even more honored to see you use this book to help bring the truth of Jesus Christ to the world. You can pick up your copy below. a.co/d/06bF9mzs

In 1922, a Bolshevik tribunal sentenced a Russian count to death, but they changed their minds. His new sentence: life inside a luxury hotel. If he ever tried to leave, he would be shot. What he built inside those walls will change how you see see your life.🧵

You think the problem is discipline. Wrong. Your thoughts have no home. They live in the street. They sleep in browser tabs. They beg on sticky notes. They wake you at 2AM demanding to be let in. And the world is thrilled to house them for you. A feed. An algorithm. A furnished room where the rent is your one brief life, paid by the hour. A man whose mind lives in rented rooms builds nothing there. The landlord keeps moving the furniture.

@creation247 Statistically, it's B. Disney adults. The park entitlement stories, treating a kids' brand like a religion. Swift superfans are toxic, and Star Wars has the history of actor harassment, sure. Nolan fans are mostly just pretentious. The data doesn't lie. B.

@GrandellRich @creation247 Small things matter, unless you are small-minded. Ellen was a bad casting decision. Lupita, I couldn't care less, she's a backstabbing cheater in the story.

One of the most annoying things about The Odyssey controversy is how Christopher Nolan fanboys react to even the mildest criticism. You can say, “Hey, this casting choice is ridiculous,” or, “This scene doesn’t work,” and they completely lose control. Suddenly they’re calling you "woke right" while writing a 14-post thread explaining aspect ratios, practical effects, Greek mythology, cinematic language, and why you’re simply too unintelligent to understand Nolan’s genius. Lighten up Francis... You are not defending Western civilization. You are defending a Hollywood millionaire director from somebody making fun of a movie trailer. The absolute panic. The emotional instability. The desperate need for everyone to validate their taste. Chris Nolan fanboys are the most low-testosterone base in modern cinema. Normal men can hear criticism of something they like without having a nervous breakdown. Nolan fanboys act like you insulted their bloodline because you laughed at Elliot Page in Greek armor.

@OrthodoxPole81 As a father with four grown kids now grandparent, real manhood protects and forms through sacramental forbearance, not shock rhetoric. They aren't good men, role models, and a healthy culture wouldn't honor them.

There's something very performative about some conservatives defending the Tate brothers. The simple reality is this, on the very basis of how they talk about and treat women, in most ancient European Christian societies and cultures they wouldn't have survived.

Every Sunday in church I'm reminded there's billions of believers worldwide every week praising God, hearing the Word, examining themselves & growing more Christ like. So grateful for the church. Grateful for pastors & musicians. Grateful for all the hard work they put in. Grateful we can worship & grow closer to a RISEN SAVIOR!!! Have a blessed Sunday fam!!! Walking out of church & now into volunteer in the kids ministry where I'll race & play with a bunch of cool middle schoolers! God is great.

The problem with seed oil is that, as with ultraprocessed foods, the taste doesn't match the nutrients, creating an internal dissonance. DISCLAIMER: I am a tiny olive oil producer (small time farmer, planted 750 trees, only for friends & family).
Dr. Simon@goddek

Olive oil is not a seed oil. It’s pressed from fruit, the way humans have done for millennia. Do not let the word “oil” fool you into treating an ancient food and an industrial product as the same thing.

@PageauJonathan As an Orthodox layman who's returned home through the sacraments, this cultural PTSD longing for return echoes the Church's call. I attended an Antiochian service with beautiful Arabic chanting today and it reminded me, "I am a stranger in a strange land."

Pulling back a bit, I am noticing that the two biggest movies of the summer will probably be The Odyssey and Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Both are about the difficulty and need to remember in order to restart a new world. Fascinating to see this trope appear as the WWII narrative continues to collapse. Sometimes I feel like the entire West has been wandering like PTSD struck soldiers since the end of WWII, incapable of returning home. I’m not saying it is in any way deliberate on the part of Hollywood, but the desire to remember and return home appearing in stories is a hopeful sign.
