Severe Thunderstorm Warning continues for New Haven IN, Ossian IN and Roanoke IN until 8:30 PM EDT

Clusters of strong to severe storms are moving east at 60 mph through NE Indiana and into NW Ohio. Wind gusts of 60-65 mph and 1” hail have been observed with these storms. We are also keeping an eye on embedded areas of rotation that could produce a few isolated tornadoes.

@NWSIWX Do you think a weather watch will be needed at some point today?

@MitochondriaJC It is possible. The previous storms were well ahead of the cold front and better dynamics so these have a somewhat better chance of organizing.

There is a slight risk of severe storms this evening area-wide. All severe hazards are possible including damaging wind gusts in excess of 60 mph, large hail 1 to 1.5 inches in diameter, and isolated tornadoes.

Strong to severe thunderstorms have developed across northeast Illinois and are moving east northeast around 30 mph. These storms have a history of producing of producing some large hail and have the potential to produce damaging wind gusts.

A SLIGHT RISK of severe weather has now been added to Tuesday! Damaging winds, large hail, and a low tornado threat are expected during the afternoon and evening. This area has been hit by a lot of storms this month, so some areas may be more vulnerable to tree damage where soils are already saturated from recent rainfall. Stay weather aware!

@MaxVelocityWX Fort Wayne has had I think 3 enhanced risks in March and we have gotten no STR's or TOA/TOR, we have actually had more happen on the tstm days :(

SEVERE WEATHER is possible across the Great Lakes tomorrow! Cities including Chicago, Milwaukee, Detroit, Lansing, Green Bay, Marquette, and Duluth are all within a MARGINAL (1/5) risk for severe weather. Damaging winds and large hail look like the main threats right now, while tornadoes are not expected to be a concern.

There is an Enhanced Risk of severe storms tonight, with the greatest threat of severe storms from 6pm to 9pm EDT from west to east with all severe hazards possible. Locally heavy rainfall possible overnight, especially south of US 24. Cooler for Friday.
