Bill 101 has passed, but the real issues in Ontario schools remain unresolved. Violence in schools. Larger class sizes. Staffing shortages. Fewer supports for students. As we move toward bargaining, OSSTF/FEESO will continue bringing forward real solutions that support students, families, and safe learning environments across Ontario. So this happened under Ford’s watch: A government-supervised school board just sent an email naming 159 teachers at risk of layoffs to all secondary staff. This is what happens when oversight replaces local governance. But hey, under his leadership everything is just great 🤦‍♀️

This crisis is ongoing and rooted in colonial violence, racism, and misogyny. Awareness is not enough. Wear red. Learn the truth. Support Indigenous-led organizations. Demand justice and real, sustained action from all levels of government.

Very confusing hearing the Education Minister suggest in an interview that trustees have had a hand in curriculum. For clarity: no. The Ministry has full responsibility of the curriculum, and the current government has been in power since 2018. So odd. #onted #onpoli

Doug Ford is manufacturing a crisis in our schools. Unions want early negotiations. A deal before September. Ford and Paul Calandra? Stalling. Why? Because a strike lets them turn parents against educators. Let’s be clear: Education workers are not the problem. He’s underfunded public education for years. He’s underfunded public healthcare for years. Now he’s trying to break both. We didn’t ask for a Thermëa spa. We didn’t need the Ontario Science Centre shut down. We didn’t need the Greenbelt opened up. We don’t need a billion-dollar tunnel under the 401. But here we are. This isn’t incompetence. It’s deliberate.
