This is Nadia Beg from Kupwara, Kashmir. She secured the 350th rank in the UPSC results yesterday. If you look at her Twitter account (which she has now deleted), you will find that it is full of anti-national activities. She tweets and retweets in support of Pakistani figures like Asif Ghafoor and Imran Khan. She talks about India's "unauthorized occupation" of Kashmir and advocates for a "Free Kashmir." She calls the country's Prime Minister a "killer of democracy," and fabricates fake stories about atrocities committed with pellet guns, circulating them via WhatsApp. With a rank of 350, she's unlikely to get into the IAS (Indian Administrative Service). Now, imagine if this woman gets into the IFS (Indian Foreign Service) through the minority quota. What will happen to India's international relations? One wrong move by her could ruin our country's relations with any other nation. And wouldn't this woman, with her pro-Pakistani ideology, have a soft corner for Pakistan? Or consider if she gets into the Indian Revenue Service (IRS). What guarantee is there that Indian money won't end up with ISIS? Shouldn't the interview process include questions about patriotism and national interest, in addition to knowledge? Do we really want bureaucrats who support the likes of Burhan Wani and Afzal Guru?
