With heavy rains affecting Hyderabad and several parts of Telangana, I visited the rain-hit areas of Malkampet Cheruvu, Tolichowki, and the Botanical Gardens nala to assess the situation firsthand and review the response on the ground. Along with Cyberabad CP Shri Ramesh, IPS, and Cyberabad Municipal Commissioner Smt. Srujana, I reviewed the measures being taken to address waterlogging and traffic disruptions. At the Botanical Gardens nala, which witnessed significant waterlogging last year, I inspected the ongoing mitigation measures, including the widening of the vent and the removal of a section of the wall to facilitate smoother water flow. Police officers have been directed to remain on high alert, ensure smooth traffic movement, assist citizens in need, and maintain close coordination with civic and disaster management agencies. All field units across the state have been instructed to stay prepared for any rain-related emergencies. During challenging weather conditions, timely response and public safety remain our highest priorities. I urge citizens to exercise caution, avoid waterlogged areas, and follow official advisories. It’s been a very hectic first month as DGP (HOPF)- there were three dacoities and two other politically sensitive cases , there was a visit of the Hon’ble Prime Minister to Hyderabad, then we visited Jagdalpur for Hon’ble Union Home Minister’s felicitation and meeting ,we had the Hon’ble CM’s meeting with all senior IPS officers spelling out his expectations ,then my efforts to review various departments, having VCs with my entire staff on policing issues , and having discussions and preparing proposals for new wings for traffic and road safety , vigilance enforcement wing , food adulteration wing , DGP tech team , by downsizing greyhounds , Octopus, SIB and gathering personnel by doing manpower audits. The entire state police worked hard to ensure the most peaceful ever Bakrid in recent history. Everyday I had hundreds of well wishers coming to greet me good luck and on some days it went on till 10-11 pm. I had my own calling on to do which itself takes a lot of time. All in all ,an hectic month !

#Telangana: Textbook prices for Classes 1 to 10 in Telangana have been reduced by up to 17 percent this year. The cost of a first-class student’s set of three textbooks has reduced from Rs 247 to Rs 209. The price of a Class 10 textbook set has reportedly dropped from Rs 1,078 to Rs 900. 𝗙𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗨𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗘𝘃𝗮𝗱𝗲 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗻𝘀; 𝗔𝗰𝗰𝘂𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗔𝗽𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗵𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗱 The Hyderabad City Traffic Police, through sustained surveillance and technological monitoring, detected the misuse of a fake vehicle registration number plate by an accused from Vikarabad District. Based on the information shared by Hyderabad Traffic Police, Chengomul Police registered a criminal case and apprehended Md. Khayyum (46), resident of Manneguda (Paigah), Pudur Mandal, Vikarabad District. During investigation, it was found that the accused had affixed fake registration number AP28DK4592 on his vehicle in place of the original registration number AP28AZ1087, with an intention to evade traffic enforcement and challan penalties. As a result, traffic challans were wrongly generated against the genuine owner of vehicle No. AP28DK4592, a resident of Dood Bowli, Hyderabad. Accordingly, a case vide FIR No.114/2026 was registered at Chengomul Police Station under Section 318(4) BNS r/w 80(a) MV Act. Notice under Section 35(3) BNSS was issued to the accused. The case was detected through coordinated efforts of Hyderabad Traffic Police and Chengomul Police, Vikarabad District. The Hyderabad Traffic Police cautioned the public that usage of fake, identical, or tampered number plates is a serious punishable offence under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and Motor Vehicles Act. Advanced surveillance systems, including CCTV and ANPR cameras, are being effectively utilized to identify such violations.
