Elon screwed up big time with this. First off, because it is a stupid thing to lie about in the first place, but secondly, he is exposing his own ignorance to a wider audience that will then start to connect the dots. A lot of people believe Elon is a genius because they hear him talk about things they themselves know very little about. And I'm not saying he is an idiot about everything, but on average, I think the wider public overestimates his intelligence. When he starts talking about something you know a lot about, he exposes himself to you and this is a clear example of that. I'm seeing a lot of gamers who had a favorable image of Elon seeing this and clearly seeing through his lies. They are forced to change their entire perspective about him by asking themselves: if I can now see his lies because I know this subject well, does that mean that he was lying about the other things that I don't know very well? The answer to that is not necessarily yes, but the fact that Elon is willing to lie about video games to make himself appear smarter will make you lean in a specific direction.

Overall the biggest problem with Esports is that your self worth is tied so closely to the work you do that you never really get to take a break from the pressure once you ramp up If I worked McDonalds or some random tech company I wouldn't come home after a day where I messed up someone's order and care about it but in Esports even a small mistake will haunt you until the end of your career, because everyone is waiting for u to fail The only way to decompress is with a proper amount of rest, and if you don't get that rest, it will permanently affect you. I don't think I'll ever recover from the mental stress I endured over the past 3 yrs in this industry and I think a lot of my peers might be in the same place even if they don't want to say it
