Oh, dear!!! I remember driving a few bleeding people (3 trips) in my green VW Golf (Station Wagon) from Kyadondo Rugby pitch to @MulagoReferral casualty unit that night. My now 15 year old daughter’s (heavily pregnant) mum had worked in the casualty unit a few months before the bomb blast so I knew a few Doctors who run the show there and could somehow get them to notice the victims I’d dropped off coz in their minds, they probably felt they owed her a favor. Uganda for you… We lost two and two survived. That car still has blood stains in the back seats. That’s the first time I truly got to know that Uganda doesn’t really have real emergency medical services. We still don’t have any emergency trauma services to speak of. Almost 15 years later. #KibaalaChronicles

I met this lady in Mukono last month. She introduced herself as ‘Nakimuli’, and we got jazzing. Within minutes, I learnt was originally from the Netherlands, came here as a missionary, & then fell in love with Ugandans bse we’re friendly. She also loved our weather, the everyday kavuyo? that was a plus in her view. She loved it! She wore a kitenge, had a Ugandan-made necklace and all. The only “Muzungu” thing about her were he sandals, the sandals with strings that bazungu love. She also told me about her NGO, and the children she takes care of, most of whom are PWDs, or Orphans. It’s no doubt she gave hope to many, and did a lot with @watotochurch - as I learnt later. Today, she sadly passed on in Mukono! Surely, heaven is receiving an angel returning from a tour of service, a service many will miss because she did it so well! 🙏🏾

Relying on Saudi this time for Eid moon sighting is gonna be tricky because they might see an Iranian missile and confuse it for the crescent moon. Locals need to step up.
