This is terrible. I feel sorry for the guy. Probably worked his entire life for that home. A Sacramento man died after he set off an explosion in his home when he lost it in a tax-defaulted auction system. People who don't or can't pay their property taxes have their homes sold in an auction. The properties are sold way below market value, but the catch is that the county doesn't have the keys to the property, and there may even be someone living in it. It is a high-risk real estate purchase. The man refused to let the property go, and now the purchaser has nothing.
