It is a waste of time to pray for the nation when you have elected bad leaders — Apostle Suleiman Popular cleric Apostle Suleiman has sparked reactions online after delivering a hard-hitting message on leadership, suffering, and empathy in Nigeria. Speaking during a sermon, Suleiman didn’t mince words as he criticized the impact of poor leadership on citizens’ lives. According to him, prayer alone cannot fix the consequences of bad governance. “It’s a waste praying when you have elected a bad person,” he said. “The only prayer you will now pray is the grace to survive the suffering.” He also called out what he described as insensitivity from those in power, especially during moments of tragedy. “The height of insensitivity is when people are mourning and you are sending media to do damage control,” he stated. Lamenting the current state of the nation, Suleiman noted that hardship and loss have become disturbingly common. “This is one of the most terrible times to be a Nigerian because evil is becoming regular.
