@JackWPolitics It is an entry level job. Very basic tasks. You'd pick it up in a few days,

@nmdacosta As you very well know, the Commons can suggest amendments, which the Lords would need to agree to.

@NLConservadem @nikicaga Even on the populism front, promised less immigration, did the opposite. Promised NHS reforms, longest waiting list in nhs history, promised growth, debt climbed, and no growth to be seen anywhere. Partly, the UK is unfixable at this point, but it doesn't excuse not even trying

@BethRigby Safe guarding minster. She did a terrible job. Little children going to school with rape alarms, women getting raped on beaches or stabbed to death walking home from work. Her only concern was her own, her money and position.

@igorbobic Huh? She’s right. When an election is rigged, you need to vote harder than ever.

The opinion is nonsensical. The definition of Election Day is a terrible rationale. The better argument for reversal was the referendum language

@GamerFunni @TetraspaceWest Yes, but they advise you not to, so that you don’t accidentally catch someone else’s ballot (which would be illegal).

@hnjsamuels Instantaneous tallying with some form of machine has to be the best - we just need to design a system that can readily be secured from tampering and audited - so perhaps optically read ballot papers or something.

Might run for Parliament on a single-issue campaign: mandating overnight counts for all elections

@EggerDC Plus AI always erroneously adds spaces around em dashes.

The thing em dashes are most useful for--the sort of elaborating aside I'm doing here--doesn't seem to trip people's AI sensors much. What you can't do now without Bot Accusation is use them to join two short independent clauses. Which was already bad!
Sean T at RCP@SeanTrende

I *hate* this. Anyone who was ever on a law journal learned the difference between em-dash and en-dash and started employing them vigorously. Now I have to take them out of my pieces so that people don't wrongly misattribute as AI.

Sometimes, I think about the difference in size between the gavel used for the US House vs the one used for the Senate.

This is a clickbait headline from a reporter who obviously didn’t read the plain language of the bill text. The bill provides funding for Secret Service security enhancements — and explicitly prohibits funds from going to non-security “ballroom” elements.

BREAKING: SCOTUS grants the Callais plaintiffs' request to issue the judgment now, meaning the ruling goes into effect and back to the district court immediately. This was done over a strong dissent from Jackson — prompting Alito (w Thomas & Gorsuch) to author an opinion concurring with the grant.

@Sasha1892_88 @Jake_W Did you just copy what another commenter said, or did you actually already know that? How did you know that? I didn't know that. I should have known that. Why didn't they just replace it? They should replace it. I'd have replaced it.
