Today, we remember the 6 million Jewish victims of the Holocaust and all victims of Nazi atrocities. We honour them today through remembrance, and every day by championing human rights and the rule of law.

It is a particular honour to speak at Ireland’s Holocaust Memorial Day.   This is a very important and emotional evening for the Jewish community in Ireland.

On National Holocaust Memorial Day, we remember the horrific murder of 6 million Jews in the Nazi death camps. We have committed ourselves to learning from history but to do so, that means tackling the scourge of antisemitism and Holocaust denial, not only today, but every day.
