@TziporahMalkah Some have floated the idea with Doctors, who reject it due to their age. Those men may want to start families later and the procedure, although reversible is not guaranteed. Shoring themselves against future litigation. My age and Family situation meant I qualified.

@MooConqueror I wonder if young men who're dating around a lot & don't want to settle down for a few years yet would consider doing this

Male birth control Who's for it?
Science girl@sciencegirl

A new kind of male birth control could change the game, and it doesn’t use hormones. Scientists are currently testing a soft implant designed to block sperm for up to two years. Instead of altering the body’s chemistry, it works in a simple, physical way. The device, known as the Adam implant, is made from a water-soluble gel and placed into the vas deferens - the tubes that carry sperm. Once inserted, it acts as a barrier, stopping sperm from mixing with semen. Everything else functions as normal, but without sperm present. Early trial results are promising. Men who reached the two-year mark showed no detectable sperm, and so far, no serious side effects have been reported. The procedure itself is quick, taking around 10 minutes under local anaesthetic. What makes this approach different is its convenience and reversibility. There’s no need for daily pills or hormone changes, and unlike a vasectomy, it isn’t meant to be permanent. Over time, the gel is expected to dissolve, which could allow fertility to return. That said, there are still unanswered questions. Full clinical data hasn’t yet been published, and scientists are still studying how reliably fertility comes back and whether the process can be reversed on demand. Larger trials are already underway to get clearer answers. Male contraception hasn’t seen much innovation in decades, but if this holds up, it could offer a long-lasting, reversible option that puts more control in men’s hands. Learn more: "Non-hormonal male contraceptive implant lasts at least two years in trials." The Guardian.

@NoticerNews Well, at least he fronts up to answer questions and doesn't run off like a little weasel in some building (*cough* @abcnews Perth, *cough*). Some of our politicians could learn a thing or two from him.

Hey Tamworth, this is my entry to this year's music contest. [Verse 1] He lives out past the sugar cane White singlet, sunburned face Two ex-wives and a payday plan Bundy in a chipped beer glass His ute’s got dents like old road maps Dog hair on the passenger seat He calls that rust a badge of honor And laughs at the heat [Pre-Chorus] Friday rolls in slow He’s got nowhere to go Thumb on the esky lid Same old grin, same old myth [Chorus] I’m a daft flag shagging inbred Cooker I’m a daft flag shagging inbred Cooker Pauline makes me proud The truth shall make me free I’m a daft flag shagging inbred Cooker

@TziporahMalkah @AlessandraAster Today is international "I can't keep up with whatever it is" Day. So don't forget to host a morning tea, buy paraphernalia, get a building lit up and chastise anyone that doesn't support the cause.

Desecrate an Anzac memorial because you find it culturally offensive? No worries. Boo a ‘Welcome to Country’ at an Anzac Dawn Service because you believe it’s disrespectful to the Anzacs and everyone who’s served? Straight to prison. Something doesn’t add up.
