Hot take: Republicans have a much better chance of keeping the presidency in 2028 if neither their presidential or VP nominees are members of the Trump admin.

Compare the problems we have today with those we had 40 years ago, and any rational person will be thankful to live today rather than 40 years ago. Because liberalism made the world a far better place.

@BasedIllinoisan This would’ve already happened in 2020 if this were gonna happen. Obama lost his 5 million low propensity voters immediately in 2012

@MookieBookieBoo @AmanitaFugax A solution has been proposed that would shrink DC, the capital, to only the essential buildings and areas, and making the surrounding area of DC into a state. It’s gotta be 99.9+ percent of the current DC population

@AmanitaFugax Low turnout, the anti statehood majority boycotted the non binding vote. The only kind of non boycotted one was 2020 which still had 2% of the votes left blank in protest which is well in margin of difference

@PunishedSJW That’s like a cap of like $800 a month when it was not $300 a month in 07 for most families like mine who were lower-middle class.

@chriswithans They would need 60 votes in the senate to add a justice. It’s not like appointments

If we win the House and gain in the Senate in November, this is something we must do. The people will have essentially mandated it. Not 9 but 6. And not all at once but 2 in 2027, 2 in 2028, and (to get the votes for Expansion) 2 in 2029, after the next presidential election.

MoveOn.org says we must not wait until there's a Democrat in the White House; expand the Supreme Court NOW! Surprising.

@RBSalt Pennsylvania has a right leaning senate, Marylands courts have already blocked it, Washington state constitution would need 2/3rds, New Yorks was already struck down in 2022

If they go the most maximum route: California, +3 Colorado, +4 Illinois, +2 Maryland, +1 Minnesota, +3 New Jersey, +2 New York, +4 Oregon, +1 Pennsylvania, +5 Washington state, +2 Wisconsin, +3 Total, D +30 How and where do republicans even respond

@Bill10067727 @MookieBookieBoo @ElectionCenter_ They don’t need to kill the filibuster. You seem rather uninformed. Scotus appointments were carved out from the filibuster under Obama and Reid. They’d need a Dem president and 50 dem senators who’d back it. A steep hill but not the fantasy land you’re portraying.

@MookieBookieBoo @ElectionCenter_ No they wouldn’t. Scotus appointments are exempt from the filibuster and have been for over a decade.

@MookieBookieBoo The last time we had a supermajority was for 47 days and we passed the ACA. Either you're too young to remember that or too stupid to look it up.
