I’ve been quiet on here for a while and I just wanted to let you guys know why. The last 2 years has been the lowest point in my life. I’ve struggled with PTSD, depression, and you fuckin name it. At times I didn’t think I would win this fight, nor did I want to. I’m still struggling but finding a new purpose in training our K9 Unit has filled a void for me. The joy I get from watching these dogs transform from green dogs to obedient and well trained bad asses entrusted with saving the lives of my officers is hard to explain. I’ve went my whole life being trained and told that mental health was just a coward’s way out. That’s how it was in the military and in LE up until a few years ago. So naturally, I’ve isolated myself in an attempt to deal with my own shit. I know now that is not the right way but it’s my way. The purpose of this message is to let you guys know that I’m ok and back on path to being myself again. Also to let you guys know that mental health is fuckin real! The traumas we see in both the military and LE can and will break even strongest people out there if you let them. Reach out for help if you need it. Check on your friends and loved ones. There are plenty more people like me who suffer silently and you won’t know unless you persistently check on them. Take care of each other!

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE The Fishers Police Department arrested a woman after she disregarded a court order to surrender her 2-year-old daughter to the Department of Child Services (DCS). Nizhoni L Carter (21) was located in Kokomo, IN with her daughter and both were brought back to Fishers. The Fishers Police Department was notified by DCS that a Hamilton County judge ordered Carter to surrender her 2-year-old daughter after allegations that the child was neglected and/or abused while living in her Fishers residence. Allegations included: the child had access to illegal drugs and unsecured firearms in the home, caregivers use illegal drugs in the presence of the child, was left at home alone while Carter would leave to buy drugs, was found alone outside the home and would often be left in a dirty diaper all day. Carter appeared virtually in court on April 15, 2026, and was ordered by a judge to surrender her daughter to DCS. Carter failed to comply with the court order and left the area with her daughter. We were able to locate Carter and her daughter in Kokomo with the assistance of: FBI Violent Crimes Task Force and the Kokomo Police Department. We want to thank everyone who helped to safely locate the child and bring Carter into custody. These efforts could not have been made without the collaboration of FPD’s Investigations, Intelligence Units and our law enforcement partners, local and federal. We especially want to thank DCS for their continued pursuit of the wellbeing of all children. Carter was transported to the Hamilton County Jail and charged with the following: •Kidnapping Where Committed with a Vehicle- level 5 felony. •Interference with Custody: Conceals a Child with the Intent to Deprive of Custody (with a court order involved) – class B misdemeanor. All criminal defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
