JOHANNESBURG — As pressure mounts ahead of the alleged 30 June “deadline” for undocumented immigrants to leave South Africa, one man has reportedly found himself trapped in a deeply ironic situation: he says he cannot leave the country because he has absolutely no idea who he officially is. Brian, explained that he entered South Africa “through the wire” several years ago and never anticipated needing paperwork again. “At the time I thought documents were optional,” he said while nervously folding an expired bus ticket from 2019. “Now everyone suddenly wants passports, permits, visas, fingerprints, proof of residence, proof of life, proof of ancestors… where was all this energy when I arrived?” According to Brian, returning home has become nearly impossible because he cannot remember which border post he crossed, which country he came from, or whether the fence he crawled under technically belonged to South Africa, Botswana, Zimbabwe, or “that other side with goats.” “It was dark,” he explained. “We were following a guy named Courage who said he knew a shortcut. Next thing I know I’m selling vetkoek in Gauteng.” Friends say Brian has become increasingly stressed after hearing about the proposed June deadline. “He tried going to Home Affairs to ask for help,” said one resident. “But after standing in the queue for six hours, officials asked him for documents to prove he doesn’t have documents.” Witnesses say the conversation reportedly caused three officials to stare silently at the wall for several minutes before one simply whispered, “This country is tired.” In a desperate attempt to resolve the issue, Brian allegedly contacted his family back home, only to discover nobody there has proper paperwork either. “My uncle says our birth certificates were eaten by goats during the rainy season,” he said. “So now even my own village says I must first prove I belong there.” Meanwhile, social media users have reacted with mixed emotions, ranging from sympathy to complete disbelief. One user posted: “Bro illegally entered a country and now can’t illegally exit it. That’s commitment.” Another added: “At this point South Africa must just issue him a loyalty card.” Sources claim Brian briefly considered leaving voluntarily but became discouraged after hearing how expensive transport prices have become. “Leaving this country is no longer affordable,” he complained. “Even going back illegally now requires a deposit.”

@sbu_sbuda90174 The store they burned has nothing to do with SA and/or SAns. The store is apparently owned by a Nigerian through franchise or purchase.

@jsteenhuisen came to court trying to silence accusations of dishonesty. When the case was argued, he suddenly dropped it. Today the Court dismantled the entire fiction. The Court found government could not show any lawful prohibition on private vaccination. It found the Section 10 scheme was no substantive defence. It found government engineered delays while FMD spread across the country. This from the same Minister who: -fearmongered about “bioterrorism” with dead vaccine - bragged about 2 million vaccinations over a drawn-out period while outbreaks exploded -lied on national television about substantively answering our legal demand South African farmers are living with the consequences of an arrogant minister who spoke with authority long before he understood the law, the science or the crisis. It is time to for accountability from John and his enablers.

Millions of South African people in deep rural quadrants, marooned with slow, intermittent, or non-existent broadband, are being denied access to global digital economies, remote work, and modern education just to safeguard a legacy extortion framework. When a government treats modern infrastructure as a sovereign threat to its political cash cow, it is no longer serving the people.

Elon Musk want to provide free internet to rural schools is dismissed, what exactly is the South African government offering for the same marginalized communities? Elon Musk owes South Africa nothing. He is simply a successful engineer who solved a global connectivity crisis and is ready to extend that solution to South Africa. The country has everything to gain and absolutely nothing to lose.

The alleged killer of Madlanga Commission witness Marius van der Merwe, Matipandile “Andy” Sotheni, has denied any involvement in the murder. In an affidavit presented during his bail application, Sotheni admitted he was in the Brakpan area -where van der Merwe lived -on the day of the murder but claims he was two streets away at the time. He further argued that the state does not have CCTV footage linking him to the killing and denied being in possession of an AK-47 when “Witness D” was gunned down. Sotheni also addressed ammunition found in a bag at his home, which the State alleges belonged to the police. He claims the ammunition belonged to Wiendre Pretorious, who later took his own life. According to Sotheni, he was with Pretorious on the day of the murder but insists they never conspired to kill van der Merwe. “I was not party to the alleged offence,” Sotheni stated in his affidavit. The state is opposing bail and proceedings continue. @pule_jones

@sindane3 @CyrilRamaphosa So President Ramaphosa and his government intend to deploy the army to silence legitimate voices of SAns who are in the receiving end of the lawlessness and all the manner of criminality perpetuated by illegal immigrants? If reports about the planned deployment of soldiers on the 30th of June are true, we urge you to reconsider. The military must never be used against the people in moments of social and political tension.Masses must come before any show of force. @CyrilRamaphosa
