The top two challenges that physics and astronomy undergrads say they are facing are research funding availability and uncertainty about the viability of physics and astronomy as careers. A decade's worth of surveys shows how student concerns have substantially shifted. #physics #astronomy

@AmericaPartyX There is no evidence that Elon Musk literally stole anyone’s pension. 😂

🚨 PROTESTERS ATTACK ELON AT JPMORGAN — "STOP ELON, NO TRILLIONAIRES"
They’re holding banners claiming “ELON IS STEALING YOUR PENSION.”
Here’s the reality:
• Elon has already paid more in taxes than almost anyone alive.
• Tesla and SpaceX employ well over 100,000 people and push humanity forward.
• Through DOGE, he helped cut billions in wasteful government spending — actually protecting pensions by slashing bureaucracy.
• Friday’s historic SpaceX IPO didn’t steal from anyone. It created massive value and turned everyday workers into millionaires.
He didn’t steal anything. He built it from the ground up.

Outrage in Italy as an Albanian man was almost beheaded by a North African gang for defending an elderly man during a robbery.
The North Africans entered a restaurant in Fermo and began harassing an elderly Italian man, demanding money.
The Albanian noticed what was happening and tried to defend the elderly Italian man, when the North Africans became enraged and dragged him outside.
They then beat him up, hitting his head with stones and allegedly trying to behead him, all while screaming “Allahu Akbar”, to the horror of everyone.
The brave man is now in a coma, fighting for his life.

@IRIMFA_SPOX @ediramaal Since Edi Rama disabled comments, I’ll ask him here: When was the last time you had a mental health evaluation?
English

Calm down, Mr. prime minister @ediramaal.
It was YOU, sir, who started this. So...you should 'face the music'!
It would be wiser to show some respect for the intelligence and judgment of your own people, as a nation of rich culture and proud history. They are perceptive enough to distinguish truth from falsehood. If you choose to sell your national sovereignty, that is your decision. You do not owe us an explanation. But when confronted by the outrage and criticism of your own public, please do not use others as a convenient scapegoat to evade accountability. Instead of writing a lengthy pamphlet filled with hackneyed baseless accusations against Iran, take a moment to listen to your own people who are chanting in the streets:

REPLIKA
Oh dear, you people are really shameless!
Thank you anyway for your concern about the intelligence of the Albanian people.
It would be far more convincing if it came from representatives of a regime that does not routinely hammer its own citizens through censorship, intimidation, internet shutdowns, and the suppression of dissent.
As for sovereignty, Albania does not take lessons on sovereignty from a government whose operatives were caught carrying out cyberattacks against Albanian public services and institutions, leading Albania to sever diplomatic relations with Iran.
You quote Albanian protesters chanting in the streets. Good. That is called democracy. In Albania people are free to protest against their government, criticize their Prime Minister, demand justice, and call for elections without fear of imprisonment.
Can the same be said for the people you claim to speak for?
And it is particularly telling that you have suddenly discovered such a profound concern for protesters in Tirana while the blood of tens of thousands of your own people stains the conscience of your regime, while countless others continue to suffer persecution, repression, and imprisonment, and while dozen of millions remain trapped in conditions that belong more to the Middle Ages than to the twenty-first century.
The Albanian people are indeed intelligent enough to distinguish truth from falsehood. That is precisely why they can tell the difference between a democratic argument and propaganda. Your bots, your fake profiles, and your deepfake videos may add to the general digital confusion the venom of your hateful regime, but they will get nowhere, because whatever our differences might be among Albanians, we are all clear and united in the view that any type of regime that keeps its own people in darkness and poverty is the enemy of our way of living, disguised as concern. And yours is the worse, a terrorist state by definition.

My post on Sazan Island went viral yesterday because the verifiable facts are shocking.
Here's what I left out: Sazan is just one piece of a much bigger operation.
Jared Kushner started Affinity Partners in July 2021. One day after leaving the White House.
Within weeks, Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund wired him $2 billion. Senior Saudi officials objected. Mohammed bin Salman overruled them.
By the end of 2024, Affinity was managing $4.8 billion, almost entirely from foreign governments. Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the UAE. Today that number is $6.16 billion. 99% from foreign nationals.
The fee structure, disclosed to the Senate Finance Committee under investigation: Kushner charges the Saudis 1.25% annually on $2 billion in committed capital. Other investors pay closer to 2%. The Senate's own investigators called this "unusually high" for a firm with Kushner's experience level, or more correctly, complete lack of experience. As of mid-2024, Affinity had generated zero return on investment and had not distributed a penny of earnings back to any client.
He's charging governments tens of millions a year to have their money sit in a bank account.
In late 2024, Senator Wyden referred Kushner to the Department of Justice for possible violations of the Foreign Agents Registration Act. The same law that put Paul Manafort in prison.
Now Kushner is back in government. Trump's "Special Envoy for Peace." Negotiating with Iran. Negotiating with Russia. Negotiating ceasefire terms in Gaza. On behalf of the United States. Not chosen by Americans. No experience running an investment firm. No training or experience in international relations. His sole credential is that he married the president's daughter. All while managing $6 billion from the governments he is negotiating with.
Before Trump's second term started, Kushner publicly promised he would not raise additional capital while serving. The New York Times then reported he was actively soliciting $5 billion more from foreign governments. His lawyers confirmed the conversations. They said he "does not intend" to take it.
He said the same thing before he took it the first time.
The Senate Finance Committee and the House Oversight Committee are both demanding answers. They've asked for every communication between Kushner and foreign governments. They've asked Affinity to preserve all documents. Any destruction of records, they said in writing, will be treated as obstruction.
Now look at the ownership chart below. It was produced as part of a corporate investigation published June 3rd titled "Exporting the Abraham Accords: The Hidden Network Converging on Albania's Shoreline." My follower @SlavicWoman777 flagged it in my replies.
Five unnamed Albanian shareholders. 24% combined stake. Structured deliberately just below the 25% threshold that would require public disclosure under Dutch law.
That is someone trying to hide who is behind the money.
This is what corruption looks like when it's wearing a suit and has a law firm on retainer.
What do you call it when your government's negotiator is on the payroll of the governments he's negotiating with?

@nypost We could phase out horse-drawn carriages in Central Park and switch to quiet electric or self-driving carts instead. It would keep the same relaxing sightseeing experience, but without using animals. Plus it’s cleaner, safer, and fits better with how cities are moving today.

For the first time in two decades of polling, more Americans sympathize with Palestinians (41%) than Israelis (36%), a reversal from 55% to 26% in Israel’s favor before to the October 7th attacks. Even 57% of Republicans aged 18 to 49 now disfavor Israel.trib.al/dcUq28Q

Project Pinto was the codename for a 1979-1983 Israeli operation smuggling ~800 krytrons (nuclear weapon triggers) from the US via front companies (MILCO/Heli Trading, linked to Arnon Milchan) to Israel's nuclear program.
Declassified FBI documents allege a young Benjamin Netanyahu, then at Heli Trading, handled logistics and met smuggler Richard Kelly Smyth. Netanyahu reportedly issued a gag order on discussing it.
