The DOW conducted what appeared to be another successful test of the Dark Eagle Long Range Hypersonic Weapon from Cape Canaveral this afternoon. The LRHW is a joint program between the Army and the Navy, and it remains to be seen which agency this test was conducted for.

The Missile Defense Agency’s two High Altitude Observatory aircraft HALO 52 and HALO 53 Gulfstream 550s departed Melbourne, Florida about 10:20 AM Eastern today. Still no TFRs for closing the airspace, but the NOTAMs are active for the debris zones.

The US is about to test fire a LRHW / Dark Eagle hypersonic glide vehicle (HGV) from Florida, launch window opens in 1h10 min from now (16:30 UTC) 🍿
This will be the first test to involve true maneuvers with two consecutive turns :
- 1st turn : ~10° / 600 km from launch point
- 2nd turn : ~30° / 800 km after first one.

The footage is unclear, and it’s difficult to determine whether the smoke is the result of a direct hit or the release of countermeasures such as chaff or flares.

This WaPo story takes on new meaning now that we know 13 U.S. bases “uninhabitable” per NYT.
Satellite imaging firms Planet and Vantor delayed imagery access about 2 weeks ago, so Iran couldn’t do BDAs to improve targeting.
But it also meant U.S. public couldn’t see damage to U.S. bases, either.

The other plan that was alleged to have collided with it has about 1 meter of its vertical stabilizer on its tail missing.
This video seems to be more evidence of a collision

China and Russia may be more advanced than Iran. But the US does not know how to make either hypersonic missiles or missiles with terminal maneuvering that can evade interceptor systems like the Fattah.

You need mass for the kinetic energy to be useful. The warheads on a hypersonic Khinzhal & Zircon have 500kg (~1000lbs) warheads
And do a little digging into what “fielding soon” actually means. It’s actually a euphemism for “very far from being fielded”. The first and only “successful” test launch was last year

@David747815774 @FinanceLancelot @Cappyarmy The missiles that were upgraded to use BeiDou guidance have largely been used up, now the ones that are being fired at Israel still use GPS and are reportedly being effected by GPS-jamming. This is causing them to go off course and miss most targets.

So @Cappyarmy appears to confirm my theory that the U.S. Expeditionary Force will invade Qeshm Island instead of Kharg Island, to open the Strait of Hormuz.
Secure the airport, land heavy equipment, then invade the mainland, advancing both east & west along the coast of Iran.

I'm starting to think the U.S. is going to invade Qeshm Islandin Iran, more specifically Qeshm International Airport, instead of Kharg Island. There are basically no inhabitants and it's perfect for positioning a massive deployment of air defenses to protect the Strait of Hormuz
