@charmagh6 @User556778851 @Score_Beo Fair enough, i got that wrong. It was all a lot of confusion tbh. They have changed the hooter rule a coupke of times and the lenght a keeper can take for a kickout has went out the window. Its a lot for refs to remember esp when they change so often

@Moyn14 @User556778851 @Score_Beo I wasn’t guessing, a sideline ball, comes under a free kick. It’s very hard to be hard on refs for not remembering the teeny tiny specifics of every rule in the heat of the moment. When men with data centres full of information can’t find it after an hour.

@charmagh6 @User556778851 @Score_Beo No Wouldnt say that, there is different rules around it like not breaking the line, which ironically was broken on this occassion but would have been harsh to penalise in this instant.

@charmagh6 @User556778851 @Score_Beo I looked up the rule book downloaded it as a pdf off gaa website and it actually doesnt mention sidelines in this senario, so it would appear its an oversight. Btw google is a search engine thats what its for its for and AI just collates info from other sources.

@MrTeach33 @Score_Beo No foot on the line is breaking it, ur thinking of the 2 point arc which u are allowed to have a foot on the line. They even mentioned it on saturday game but said it would have been a brave lineman to give it.

@Moyn14 @Score_Beo Clutching at straws here. Scored a legit 2 pointer as per the rules and the line wasn’t broken. What else have you up your sleeve? Maybe the ref hasn’t passed his fitness test this year so shouldn’t have been refereeing.

@Christopheupcj @Score_Beo That rules has been changed sure its a 2 pointer even if it is touched. Tbf there is a lot of confusion and needs to be sorted by the gaa if its def a 2 pointer or not. Also the fact he broke the line it shouldnt have co7nted there us no ambiguity on that rule

@Moyn14 @User556778851 @Score_Beo It was a tough loss and McCarron did break the sideline when taking the kick (GAA+ coverage showed that). But let's face it. Midway thru the 2nd half, even with a mini resurgence from MN, we were still in control. It doesn't reflect well on certain players, unfortunately.

@AvidIrishReader @User556778851 @Score_Beo Looked up rule myself the only thing the rule or the exceptions doesnt mention is a sideline so seems to be a loophole. The only rule he did def break was he broke the line when kicking. I dunno it was a tough loss

I’d be inclined to give Noel Mooney credit in reversing that decision - even if Beggan had to remind him of the rule.
