There’s certain moves I genuinely had no problem with, but to me what’s makes absolutely zero sense at all is the process
Paying Pete Alonso for 5 years is a massive cardinal sin because there’s a chance 1 or 2 of the back years won’t be good, BUT paying Bo Bichette who’s one year removed from a .599 OPS up to 130 million over 3 years when he’s worth maybe 65% of that at best is completely fine
We HAVE TO get rid of Nimmo’s deal because it might be bad in 3 or 4 years, so we trade him for a player who’s completely washed and on a terrible contract FOR THREE MORE YEARS
We want to improve the roster defensively so we sign 2 poor defenders at their primary position to learn a new position AND move a good fielding 3rd baseman to try multiple new positions to accommodate guys learning new spots
We watched Senga, Manaea and Peterson ABSOLUTELY IMPLODE last season and they can ALL STAY while the offensive core who’s been very consistent over their career HAS TO GO because they’ve “never won anything”
David Stearns is fucking clueless

@JustinCLeto @Mets Option one means the kinda turned things around and gives some hope for next year so I'd choose that...if they lose 100 plus then is a fire sale and rebuilding for the next few years.
English

Question for all @Mets fans. Would you rather (1) have this team make a bit of a comeback and get close to, or slightly over .500 by end of year or (2) have them lose 100 plus games. If you choose option 1, David Stearns stays. If you choose option 2, he’s fired at the end of the season.
Which you choose?

@SleeperMets Idc about any of that right now. If they can't hit then they're not going anywhere. They're vsing some of the worst pitchers in the league and making them all look like aces. These 2-1 victories doesn't give any hope at all.
English

@fadernation5 @colincowherd Add this to the where Colin was wrong segment.
English

@FAmmiranteTFJ They should've swept Colorado and yesterday they could only get 2 hits off a pitcher with a 14 era at home. Sure they're barely winning games, but the offense hasn't really given much hope of turning things around.
English

@Mets @nolanmclean11 @PitchingNinja Their pitcher had a 14 era at home and all they can do is get 2 hits off him. This team is embarrassing.
English

@ShaEnjoyer @garbage_mets @Miss_Met I agree with that. This team can't develop young talent once they're up. How do all of them have terrible discipline? They all swing and terrible off speed pitches and take the good pitches when they get in good counts. And it's been years and still no signs of progress.
English

@Moziz93 @garbage_mets @Miss_Met has nothing to do with the player. everything to do with the team. he will obviously be a great player in milwaukee. as would alvy, baty, mauricio, and vientos anywhere else
English

@Mets_Ray @pladinosaur I feel like usually he would, but since he's in the hotseat he can't afford to take much more blame and he's feeling the pressure so decided to throw them under the bus
English

@pladinosaur I didn’t like Mendoza throwing the replay room under the bus. He’s the manager of the team. Take fucking responsibility
English

I’ve never understood why the manager gets dogged for this. It’s the team’s replay team that relays them what to do, they can’t see shit.

Here's a look at the full field on that Jo Adell RBI single in the first inning. It appears Jorge Soler was tagged out just before Nolan Schanuel touched home.
English

@garbage_mets @Miss_Met With our look watch it be Jett Williams being the one that actually turns into a star.
English

@timriggins28 @Miss_Met 1 outa 10 will become a star. One of the upcoming prospects gotta be good. No way all of them continue to suck like this in the big league level.
English

@Miss_Met I will never ever bitch about trading a prospect again.
English

@MetCastPod Devers is one of the worst contracts in the sport. And I've seen multiple mets pages posting about him. Lot of the fan base comes up with such dumb ideas.
English

@Jolly_Olive Even if there is no lockout. We're still stuck with so many bad contracts so what makes you think next year will be any better? Sterns really messed up this team and it could take few years to repair.
English

@detectivehaha @asollecito11 Dude has a 1000 plus ops and you're looking at his batting avg...
English

@asollecito11 Nobody wa had Murakami because there was concern he couldn’t hit the same way in the US compared to Japan . He is still batting 256 , not lighting the world on fire
English

remember when Mets fans got hyped because Stearns traveled to Japan to scout Murakami ??
instead, he signed a washed injury-prone second baseman to play first base

@laknightingale She never had a match like this on the main roster. All the matches seemed bit sloppy and can easily tell she was holding back. I don't get why. Because of that I wasnt able to really get behind her until the story with Asuka but now its too late seems like.
English

Indeed...
Never got to see them tangle properly on the main roster
