The game just changed between Nigeria and the United States. For years, Africans have been the ones bending to foreign rules, but now the tables are turning. America recently announced that every Nigerian applying for a US visa must reveal all their social media accounts Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, even the ones you barely use. If you fail to list them, you risk denial or even being banned from future visas. But Nigeria is not taking this quietly. The government has vowed to mirror the same policy. From now on, every American who wants to visit Nigeria will also have to submit their social media details before stepping into our land. Is this the beginning of a new balance of power, where Africa starts standing tall and saying enough is enough? Or is it just another diplomatic chess game?
