I just got laid off from Meta. Obviously it sucks to lose the income. But between the never-ending layoffs, stack ranking, etc., I'm good. Pretty convinced that when I look back at this moment a few years into the future, I'll be grateful it happened. There's a lot I want to say here, but I'll save that for another day. Either way it's been a privilege to have been a part of the ride. On to the next adventure.

Greed? I call that growing. A company is its own entity, the billionaires have everything they want and can have, an extra billion or five won't do anything for them. Homes that these people buy are also scarced, so having extra money becomes useless - even though their net work is based on stock anyway. --- For big companies like that, billionares dont have cash, and companies value is based on what they can offer and how much cash they got to survive and or to grow. I mean... You start making half a million, does that automatically become greed? Yes, for some.

On a legal level, there's no difference between high and low IQ criminals - I agree with you on that. It seems like you're saying Mark from Meta is a criminal because hes taking advantage of hard working people. To that, there is some truth on how companies operate, lobbying, breaking the law like Mark does and then just pays cost of business, I meant fines... But the nature of being an CEO is that you take the risk, build the company, have people work under you, and then because of the risk etc you get to reap the big reward. And for low IQ, a person who rapes, steals a TV etc... those aren't necessities. But I'm sure these people are too dumb to realise and are lead with domapine shots. --- I feel like you're not all for capitalism, which definitely has issues. We probably agree on a raw value-based level though, and are cycling a bit on semantics.

Just because they make a lot of money, doesn't mean they know how to manage them. I knew a guy with a massive house, a few cars, asking for financial help. Why? Because he lived over his means. He had the habbit of a poor man, but weilding more money, getting the same things a poor man would, just bigger.

I'm not sure I fully understand what you mean, but... Not every person thinks Meta is bad, and they will gladly do whatever hey are told - so when you say people have power, you are correct. That doesn't mean every person will side with your values. Just like with veganism, some people care about animals not dying, so they don't eat meat, and some people know and see the animal being killed, and just don't care... each to their own. And in the current climate employees are the ones desperat for jobs so they will gt hired for cheaper elsewhere, so this is a wonderful 3D chess move by big companies.

The ones left told them to kick rocks when they asked them to work overtime to try and get everything back up and running. People have the power.

You're not taking responsibility for what happened. Maybe you are right; however, in modern days, for people like yourself, you "SHOULD" save the data on an external drive right away, and not keep everything just on an SD card, which in situation like that is going to be taken away guaranteed. It's 2026. You can blame them, and say how bad they are - maybe true, but doesn't change the fact they will do it. So the only correct response to this are: 1. Change the GOV 2. Figure out a solution, like external disk that gets sent to only you can access meanwhile point 1 is in progress Because right now, they achievd th goal: Took the SD card off you.
