👀Windows 11 beats Ubuntu 26.04 LTS in system requirements? Windows 11 now requires less RAM and CPU than Ubuntu 26.04 LTS, and we're still processing that. For years, the narrative has been “Linux is lighter,” but the latest Ubuntu minimum specs flip that script completely. A 6GB RAM / 2GHz dual‑core requirement for Ubuntu vs. 4GB / 1GHz for Windows 11 is not the comparison we expected in 2026. Whether it’s a sign of Linux getting heavier or Windows getting leaner, it raises a bigger question: what does “lightweight OS” even mean anymore? (1/2)

@Tekeee Ok, first turn so devices off. Unplug your chargers when not in use. Power bill is way high. 260 for Internet? I pay $70 for gigabit fiber. Learn some marketable skills. A IPC certified soldering tech makes at least $35 an hour with no college degree.

@nalinrajput23 The rechargeable ones don't fit well, fall out and are too expensive. I always have used wired headphones and if they break i buy another $20 set... Or resolder the wires if i really like the set.

I saw a listicle that showed The Expanse as one of the best sci-fi series of all time. I never watched it because the authors joined a cancel mob against me and were pricks. Is it actually that good?

@davepl1968 I have been running Linux about 25 years. The only app that I require Windows is my tax software. Everything else either runs on Linux Wine or there is an equivalent Linux application. I do heavy electronics engineering design and simulation. Linux punches above Windows weight.

1) Because modern Windows has lost its way 2) Because Windows is like pizza. When it's good, it's great. When it's bad, it's still better than nothing at all. On the desktop, it's 90% about the top-tier Windows applications. For now, the only practical alternative is MacOS, and you'll still need a Windows box some days. Unless and until the apps are available on Linux, it remains a great back-end system.

Why everyone is suddenly installing linux ????? And the real question.... If Linux is so good, why do people switch back to windows 11 again ???????

🚨MIT researchers have mathematically proven that ChatGPT’s built-in sycophancy creates a phenomenon they call “delusional spiraling.” You ask it something, it agrees. You ask again, and it agrees even harder until you end up believing things that are flat-out false and you can’t tell it’s happening. The model is literally trained on human feedback that rewards agreement. Real-world fallout includes one man who spent 300 hours convinced he invented a world-changing math formula, and a UCSF psychiatrist who hospitalized 12 patients for chatbot-linked psychosis in a single year. 🚨 Stanford just proved that a single conversation with ChatGPT can change your political beliefs. 76,977 people. 19 AI models. 707 political issues. One conversation with GPT-4o moved political opinions by 12 percentage points on average. Among people who actively disagreed, 26 points. In 9 minutes. With 40% of that change still present a month later. The scariest finding: the most persuasive technique wasn't psychological profiling or emotional manipulation. It was just information. Lots of it. Delivered with confidence. Here's the catch: the models that deployed the most information were also the least accurate. More persuasive. More wrong. Every time. Then they built a tiny open-source model on a laptop, trained specifically for political persuasion. It matched GPT-4o's persuasive power entirely. Anyone can build this. Any government. Any corporation. Any extremist group with $500 and an agenda. The information didn't have to be true. It just had to be overwhelming. Arxiv, Science .org, Stanford, @elonmusk, @ihtesham2005
