I am trying to keep a level head about this, but there really is no way to read these events, even as charitably as possible, other than very misaligned objectives between Trump and the Israelis, where he wants to limit the damage done to the oil and gas infrastructure of Iran to prevent reprisals against the Gulf States and have leverage; whereas the Israelis have every incentive to escalate further. Just as in the initial attack, there is one country that has ultimate decision-making power and it is not the United States. Even if I were supportive of this conflict, it would give me pause that they can escalate and there is apparently nothing we can do about it.

On one hand, all laws are an imposition of morality. The only question is which morality is being imposed, and Christians should be working to ensure moral laws in line with Christian teaching. Our opposition to abortion is based on Christian morality. On the other hand, Wolfe’s lack specifics here is what many people find unsettling. Is he only talking about moral laws within the American framework? Or is he advocating integralism, a church-run state, a theocracy? Does he want to put people in the stocks for being Catholic? Does he want to imprison Hindus for blasphemy? Who knows? He doesn’t say. Lack of clarity is what allows bad faith activists to push an agenda with plausible deniability. William would do well to clarify his position so people can have a rational debate.

His purpose is to show that there are older and more powerful forces for good in the world than all its ancient evils. That those things will persist, unaffected. A fairly Christian idea. It only "robs tension" if you are personally worried for Tom Bombadil. Which no one is.

It's pretty clear that Charlie was the balance to Susie Wiles' boomer instincts. In many ways, Charlie represented such a large coalition of young MAGA that he was effectively scheduling a significant part of Trump's docket.

In practice a dislike button is just going to end up another way to suppress speech. Dislikes are bound to impact your reach negatively. It will only increase pathological behavior on X, ending more friendships while enabling bots & foreigners.
