Though smaller than last year, the Unite the Kingdom march over the weekend was still sickening. The resurgence of out-and-out racism in the UK, from demands for remigration of British Asians to Antisemitic slurs on placards at both demonstrations, demands we meet this moment.

Starmer is still effectively saying, “Me me me. It’s all about me.” The worst and most unpopular PM in decades, believes in himself. He’s the only one who does!

This is pure denial from a Prime Minister who refuses to accept reality. Starmer stands there claiming “growth figures that were the best in the G7” while the IMF just gave Britain the biggest downgrade of any major economy. He boasts about “really good” NHS figures while waiting lists remain near record highs. He talks about “getting on with the job” while his own Health Secretary resigned last week and dozens of his MPs are openly calling for him to go. This isn’t leadership. It’s a man pretending everything is fine while his authority collapses around him. The public can see it. His own party can see it. He’s the only one still in denial.

NEW: PM visited Labour HQ today & he’s coming out fighting. Starmer acknowledges tough results and that “it’s not been easy circumstances in last 10 days” Makes it clear he’s carrying on with the job “to serve my country and to carry out my duties as Prime Minister of this country” Says he’ll support the candidate in Makerfield 100% Also uses the remarks to highlight his record - 2 child benefit cap, renters’ rights, NHS lists - and make point that many people just want govt ‘to get on with it’ Full quotes: “I just wanted to come here to Labour Party headquarters to say a big thank you to you. The election results were not the ones that we wanted, they were really tough. But you worked your socks off. “It’s not been easy circumstances in the last 10 days. But you have just got on with the job that we asked you to do. “If you look at just some of the figures that came out last week. We had growth figures that were the best in the G7. That's because of the hard work that we've done in government. On the economy we've got ourselves into a good position, having inherited a real basket case from the last government. “The NHS figures were really good, which again vindicates what we did, which was invest in the NHS, which is what we said we would do. “And that's on top of all the other things… The Employment Rights Act. The biggest upgrade in renters’ rights in a generation. “And then of course all the work that we are doing around child poverty, of which I am really proud. What a game changer that will be for a whole generation and will be measured for years and years to come because the children will feel the impact for the rest of their lives. They will have chances they wouldn't otherwise have had. “The election results tell us that people are frustrated, they don’t feel that their lives have changed quickly enough. “We need to build up the urgency of what we do. We need a bit more hope in there. And we need to remember at all times what we are here to do. We were elected to government to serve the people of this country. “And I remind myself every day that in July 2024 millions of people voted for us to come into government, to get on with the job, to govern, and to bring about the change that they want. “So I am focused on the job that I was asked to do, which is to serve my country and to carry out my duties as Prime Minister of this country. Delivering for the very many people who voted us into office, who are saying, ‘just get on with it, get on with the job, get on with the change that I need to see in my life’. And that is what I am going to be doing. “We now have an important by-election coming up. It is Labour versus Reform. We will know very shortly who the candidate is. Whoever they are I am going to support them one hundred per cent and I want every member, everyone in our movement to support them. A Labour candidate to beat Reform. That is the fight that we are in.”

Deputy Prime Minister David Lammy has said that Keir Starmer is not going to set a timetable for his departure from No. 10. 🔴 Around 100 Labour MPs believe he should resign 🔴 Several of his closest cabinet staff have resigned 🔴 Officially the most detested Prime Minister in British history And yet, he still refuses to stand down. This is communism, plain and simple.

Rachel Reeves is lying to your face. The IMF did not upgrade Britain’s growth forecast. They downgraded it and gave the UK the biggest cut of any G7 country. She knows this. She’s just banking on you being too stupid to check. This is contempt, not competence.

Protecting households and businesses from rising costs is my priority, and the choices I have made as Chancellor mean our economy is in a stronger position as we deal with the costs of the war in Iran.

Wes Streeting's speech today was as disgraceful as his knee bending leaders. Are Rhiannon's family racist & divisive, you little gimp? You're government has failed this poor family, just like you failed those little girls & their families in Southport & the families in Nottingham. Shame on you all.

A sea of 🇬🇧 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 🇮🇪 flags and Brits singing Sweet Caroline. No face masks, no genocide chants, no adoration for murderous regimes, no support for proscribed groups. @Keir_Starmer is this what hate and division looks like? Looks welcoming to me.

.@Keir_Starmer, I understand that you may be considering your position this weekend. I would just like to say as a voter that your rightful position is as our PM and I hope that is how it will stay. @AndyBurnhamGM @wesstreeting @lisanandy @angelarayner @SkyNews @BBCNews

There’s a complete lack of loyalty. I think Keir Starmer should stay. I think there shouldn't be a leadership contest. And I back Keir Starmer to finish the job that he started, deliver the manifesto that he got elected on. Yes, things have been tough. Yes, he's made mistakes. The background in the world with Trump 2.0, the Iran war, all that kind of stuff, hasn't helped, but our economy grew very strongly in the 1st quarter, and that news was out just this week, yesterday, and things aren't that bad. But it's been painted that way. gbnews.com/politics/dale-…
