Losing my brother and retiring from the law at the same time, while taking on new challenges, has left me in an overly emotive and philosophical mood, so please excuse what I am about to do, which some will label engagement farming. But I really am interested in hearing what people think about what I’m about to say. I helped my nephew put together a playlist of popular songs that defined his father---songs his father loved that defined him. What three popular songs would define you at your funeral? (Putting aside for this purpose faith-based hymns, which I think most people would pick.) Here are mine: 1. “Body of an American,” by The Pogues. 2. “American Soldier,” by Toby Keith. 3. “You Can Get It If You Really Want,” by Jimmy Cliff. How about you?

To all the people in my mentions and DMs telling me I look old ... I am! That's not an insult! That's like telling me I'm short. I'm just fine looking the age that I am. Why shouldn't I be? (I'm fine being short too.) To all the people telling me I look "trans" or like a man ... I thought "trans women" are women and are more beautiful than real women or "c*s" women? So I'll take it as a compliment. Thank you! To all the people telling me I look like the Hulk and look at your neck! See point 1, yes we age. Grateful to have the opportunity to do so. Also, the Hulk looks and is strong, so again, I'll take it as a compliment. Thank you! Happy Monday!

We need a cultural reset for parents. On: - tech for kids - the importance of reading to preschoolers, and WHY its better for oral language development than anything else they can do - student behavior Are we ready?

What’s happening at Kansas City International Airport is unacceptable and it demands immediate action from the city council. We are now dealing with allegations of a sick individual secretly recording people in “gender neutral” restrooms, including areas used by minors. It’s disturbing, it’s unacceptable, and it should outrage every parent and every citizen in this community. This person must be fully investigated and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. But let’s also be honest about the bigger picture. In the name of “inclusivity,” we have allowed policies that ignore basic common sense. The result is confusion, reduced accountability, and a growing loss of trust among families who just want to know their children are safe. That trust has been broken. Restrooms are not the place for social experimentation. They are private, sensitive spaces where clarity and security must come first - especially when children are involved. I am calling for an immediate return to: 1) Clearly defined men’s and women’s restrooms 2) Family restrooms to replace the “gender neutral” for anyone who wants additional privacy. This is not about politics - it’s about protecting people and our children. It’s about drawing clear lines that keep our communities safe and restore confidence in our public spaces. Kansas City needs leadership that puts safety first not ideology. Enough is enough. It’s time to act, restore order, and protect our families.

Husker fans have not only over taken Oklahoma City’s hotels, bars and restaurants, they also just overtook St. Joseph’s Old Cathedral for 4 pm mass. The priest couldn’t believe how much red was there. The church sat 700 people and was 85 percent Husker fans.

Normalize able bodied children/adults giving up a seat on a bench in a crowded location to older adults with obvious mobility issues.

It took less than 10 minutes for our Cuban born Uber driver in Miami to bring up how bad things are in Cuba under communism, and I’m all for him repeating this to all his passengers as often as he can.
