The #MountainFire has burned 20,630 acres and is 48% contained. Currently, 2,399 personnel are assigned to the incident. Fire activity was minimal overnight. Repopulation efforts are ongoing, but road closures, evacuation warnings, and orders remain in effect in some areas. Damage assessment teams continue to work in the affected areas. #MountainFire UPDATE: The fire has crossed Highway 118 and is now impacting the Camarillo Heights area. Evacuation orders are in effect, and we urge residents to follow these orders for their safety. Several individuals have been injured and transported to local hospitals. Numerous structures are currently threatened. Due to extreme wind conditions, fixed-wing aircraft are unable to assist in firefighting efforts. Ground crews, helicopters and mutual aid resources are actively working to protect lives and property. 8PM EDT: This is nothing short of astronomical. I am at a loss for words to meteorologically describe you the storms small eye and intensity. 897mb pressure with 180 MPH max sustained winds and gusts 200+ MPH. This is now the 4th strongest hurricane ever recorded by pressure on this side of the world. The eye is TINY at nearly 3.8 miles wide. This hurricane is nearing the mathematical limit of what Earth's atmosphere over this ocean water can produce.
