In the United States we have 2 large political parties, a conservative party and an (American style) liberal party. That can cause the misperception that the country is divided into two, massive political blocs. This could not be further from the truth. (1/?)

Kinda crazy how even when he’s more unpopular than ever every Republican in the country lives with the understanding that Trump can end their career with less effort than it takes to wipe his ass.

Watching the Indiana primaries tonight show how brazenly the State Senate is gerrymandered. Every mid sized city that could support a district is cracked 2, 3, or even 4 times.

@Ybot683196 @Awwrnold The largest problem with using betting odds to influence a forecast is that the forecast can change the odds. If a district being bluer in a model that expected causes money to move toward the side, the model will become even bluer. It’s a feedback loop.

@Tomki076 The main reason was to kill the least liked Republican incumbent but having an ugly ass map that they could challenge in court was a nice bonus. Remember this was right after the court forced AL to make a second black seat. Assumptions were VRA was mostly safe.

I’m so convinced republicans draw two ugly ass majority-minority districts so the VRA gets gutted in the future. This would’ve been a good enough map.

The year is 2032 and we head into a consequential midterm election. The Republicans hold 215 safe seats. The Democrats hold 215 safe seats. Control of the House hinges on the 5 remaining swing districts.

Also please add any other districts you think are gerrymandered these above are all my opinion and I’m happy to be swayed one way or another. (4/3)

Not all of the districts above would be instant flips, some would just be competitive, but it’s a demonstration that over 10% of the Republican caucus only have jobs because of partisan gerrymandering. This problem is going to be much worse in 2027. (3/3)
