Lest we forget: in 2016, Gen David Sejusa was charged before the General Court Martial with allegedly participating in political activities while still a serving army officer, insubordination and absence without official leave.
When he applied for bail, Sejusa presented then Kampala Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago and Dr Deo Kizito Lukyamuzi as his sureties.
The Court Martial rejected the two, ruling that a surety had to be a full General, someone with the rank, power, and means to compel Sejusa’s attendance in court.
This was later overruled by High Court judge Justice Wilson Masalu Musene, who accepted them, ruling that they were substantial, influential citizens capable of ensuring the General’s return to court.
Subsequently, Gen Sejusa was granted bail after spending close to two months in Luzira prison.

@Uganda_Expozed @MoWT_Uganda @PoliceUg Drivers should have journey management plan before setting off. Places like Kapchorwa need a proper brief by your fellow driver who has ever gone there. Forexample it was safe for them to leave tomorrow morning.

@nvrdgs That kapchorwa road even if you have tyres and you have never gone there, you can get problems. Driver should always have journey management plan. Call your fellows, they brief you on how you should behave on roads they have gone to.
