@justcalledtosay @SevillaFC_ENG Think Southampton had been to see him as well, judging by not taking their foot off the gas in the second half and extra time

@SevillaFC_ENG Talking of records, have you found those missing medical records from around 2006? Or did Eufemiano Fuentes destroy them all?

The Continuation Proposal - The Lead The amount of support shown to us after we announced that we were ending the account has been very touching - we really have appreciated the many public and private messages of support, encouragement & disappointment of it's demise. So…. With a few minor changes to timings etc - no same day weekends reviews for example so we can have our Saturdays & Sundays back! - we are contemplating continuing (please don’t tell my missus). We must be mad. But we do love it, but it comes at a nominal cost. If we do continue it will be up to you, with X and Adobe subscriptions the account costs us £350 a year - all manpower is ridiculously provided free but as ever fuelled by biscuits via kofi - which we also really appreciate. The deal is we’ll go halves with you. If we raise £175 via Kofi we will continue for a third season. Can't say fairer than that. The £175 equates to about 11p each if all of our lovely X followers donated equally to the cause. Pretty reasonable if you ask us. We have also been told to ask if anyone wants to talk about sponsoring our efforts we are open to those discussions - if you follow the account you know we’ll take care of any sponsors! DMs are open. We have also been advised to look at launching a newsletter ahead next season to take our content beyond the algorithmic constraints of social media - we're looking into this and if it's a go-er the newsletter will include extra content. So let us know if that interests you too. Over to you lot then. You got 11p? (More is very welcome, and ecnouraged of course!) Apologies for the long read but we wanted to keep you updated. Seriously please don’t tell my missus!

@mike18210 @NEFootballHub Even crazier when you hear about Stockport Town, thought it was destined to be a 20 team league. I know there’ll be a few from Crook coming over

Devastating news. 1 failed appeal and 2 failed applications to move the club away from constant 5 hour round trips, next to no travelling support, no public transport links and all in a time where its never been harder to a run a business. Never felt as low with football

Tunnock's is pretty much the only brand I can think of that hasn't engaged in enshittifaction. No change to recipe, shrinkflation, rebranding, change in packaging. I hope they're still going when all their competitors are fucked.

I wonder how long the League and FA will keep clubs waiting to see which division they will be playing in next season? At this point, is anyone entirely sure how many teams are relegated from the Northern League Division's One and Two? We have @bishopafc @Blyth_TownFC and @NAycliffeFC returning to Division One, with @wacfc resigning from the league. @redcartownfc and one of @YarmEaglescliff or @jarrow_fc will be promoted from Division Two This means 5 spaces will be needed to keep the division at its current numbers Therefore, we have to assume that @NorthallertonFC will be the only team relegated, and the Division will comprise 22 teams next season. In Division Two, we lose Redcar Town and one of Jarrow or Yarm & Eaglescliffe, plus the resigning @Westend_FC, while Northallerton will be dropping down from Division One. @WearsideLeague champions, @SeatonCarewFC along with @NRFLOfficial champions @officialsscfc will both be promoted into Division Two @EWFC1913 finished bottom of the division, but could they yet get a reprieve from relegation due to West End's resignation? That may depend on whether or not the champions of the @nfalliance1890 are going to be promoted or not. My best guess is that Esh Winning will be relegated and no team will come up from the Northern Alliance. This will see both divisions hosting 22 teams Clarity would be nice, though, and as soon as possible, so that clubs can plan for their future, no matter which division they find themselves in

Crook Town — “Long Downs, Rare Ups” The Black Ambers endured a season dominated by long losing spells, punctuated by two three game winning runs that briefly lifted spirits. Their away form was among the weakest in the league, and repeated winless spells made recovery difficult, including an eleven game run to the season without a win. FACT: Lowest scorers in NL1 with just 31. @crooktown_afc 🧡

Announcement. After the dust has settled on the final day of the regular season it seems like the perfect time to confirm we will be shutting down this account at the end of this season. The time it takes us to research, prepare and review our work is a sizeable commitment and the response doesn’t make it feasible to continue. We've had the pleasure interacted with some amazing people and we appreciate the input & support from many more. To those, we offer our sincere thanks. We will miss you. The bottom line is that we think our efforts deserve more but that isn’t the case, and indeed engagement is steadily dropping. The numbers don't lie. And that's ok. It obviously us, not you. As a final word please support those creators that are trying to highlight YOUR club & YOUR league. A like, repost or a comment goes a long way to re-energising their motivation. Guys like @HoppersGuide & @UpTheNL are doing the League's job for them, without recognition or encouragement. We came to terms with that a long time ago but please get behind these guys - and others - or you'll lose them too. Au revoir. The Lead.

ℹ️//TODAY//FIXTURE//NL1 @crooktown_afc v @CarlisleCityFC Comp: Northern League Division One Venue: The Sir Tom Cowie Millfield, DL15 9PW Kick Off: 3pm 📈CURRENT FORM// Crook Town 17th | DLLLLL - They are now without a league win in ten games after a 2-0 home loss at the hands of playoff chasing Newcastle Blue Star last weekend. That was a 17th league game, from 35, in which they have failed to score - and they have now scored just one goal in their last eight league outings. As they head into their last league home fixture they have won 4/17 league games on home soil, with two draws and 11 defeats completing their NL1 record to date at the Millfield. They haven’t won for seven games in home league action. Lost 1-0 in March’s reverse fixture in Cumbria. Ashton Houlahan saw a second half penalty saved. Carlisle City 15th | WDLWLL - Wrapped their home league campaign with a 4-1 defeat to Guisborough Town last Saturday - that win crowned Town Division One Champions. Jordan Holt had given City the lead at Gillford Park before the Champs took control. This is their last away league game of the season, they have won 4/17 league games played on their travels, with three draws and 10 losses rounding out their NL1 away record to date. A first half Kelvin James goal gave them a 1-0 win at home in March’s reverse fixture. ⏪LAST TIME// Town took the points in the corresponding NL1 fixture last season with a 4-2 victory at the Millfield. Charlie Brunton put the hosts ahead on 17 minutes, then four minutes later Corey Nicholson added a second. Brunton made it 3-0 on 35 minutes with his second, but City went into the break trailing by just two after Jordan Irving’s 45+2 minute penalty made it 3-1. Crook restored their three goal gap on 52 minutes, Reece Havelock-Brown with their fourth of the evening. Josh Simpson pulled a goal back for City on 90 minutes as it ended 4-2. 🔮OUR PREDICTION// Crook’s long winless run and severe goal drought make this a difficult assignment despite home advantage. City haven’t been convincing on their travels, but they at least carry more attacking threat than their hosts right now. Crook’s struggles in the final third feel too deep‑rooted to overturn in a single afternoon. City’s inconsistency keeps the scoreline tight, yet they look the more likely side to edge it. Black & Ambers 0–1 City Comments, Likes & Reposts are very much appreciated. If you really like our work you could buy us a ko-fi, link in bio! ⚽️
