On the sidelines of the Africa CEO Forum, President Kagame held separate meetings with Dr. Sidi Ould Tah, President of the African Development Bank (AfDB); Abdullah Almusaibeeh, President of the Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa (BADEA); Philippe Labonne, President of Africa Global Logistics Group (AGL); and Gabriel Sémelas Gordo, President of Airbus Africa & Middle East. The meetings focused on strengthening partnerships and advancing investment opportunities that support Rwanda’s economic growth and transformation agenda.

They are able to go through some of the barriers that are created by the public sector, but if those barriers were not there, the private sector would be far ahead of where they are, and along with that, the continent would be ahead of where we are. This morning at the Kigali Convention Centre, President Kagame is attending the 13th edition of the Africa CEO Forum, organized by Jeune Afrique Media Group and co-hosted with the International Finance Corporation (IFC). The @africaceoforum, which is being held under the theme, “Scale or Fail: Why Africa Must Embrace Shared Ownership”, brings together over 2,500 Heads of State and leaders from across public and private sector from over 75 countries. In her keynote at the #GlobalGateway roadshow, Minister @tesirusagara said Rwanda has laid the foundations for private sector-led growth but cannot accelerate alone. “Partners like @GlobalGateway share our ambition. Instruments like EFSD+ are trust-builders — when development finance institutions share risk with private investors, it signals confidence to the wider market. Through @Kigali_IFC, Rwanda is building a platform where capital is mobilised and investments flow confidently across Africa”.

This evening, President Kagame welcomed President Daniel Chapo of the Republic of Mozambique to Rwanda. The two Heads of State discussed areas of bilateral partnerships including security cooperation, trade, and investment. President Chapo @daniel_chapo24 is in Kigali to attend the 13th edition of the Africa CEO Forum during his visit.

President Kagame received H.E. Bola Ahmed Tinubu, President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, at Urugwiro Village. Their discussions focused on strengthening the fruitful partnership between Rwanda and Nigeria across key sectors including trade, energy and defense cooperation. President Kagame also hosted President Tinubu @officialABAT and his delegation for a working lunch.

Minister @tesirusagara welcomed H.E. @KarimZidane_, Minister Delegate to the Head of Government in charge of Investment of the Kingdom of Morocco, for a courtesy call ahead of the Africa CEO Forum scheduled to take place in Kigali from 14th to 15th May 2026. The discussions focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation between Rwanda and the Kingdom of Morocco, particularly in the areas of investment promotion and public policy development.

Happening now at Marriott Hotel on the sidelines of the #AfricaCEOForum, KIFC and MEDA are convening a high-level discussion under the theme: “From Shared Ownership to Shared Infrastructure: How African Capital Can Be Formed and Governed in Africa.” The discussion brings together investors, DFIs, policymakers, regulators, and fund managers to explore the future of African fund domiciliation and capital formation. MEDA is an international economic development organization that works to support inclusive private sector growth and investment ecosystems through the support of Mastercard Foundation. This collaboration also led to the Study on Africa as a Jurisdiction for Domiciliation of Investment Vehicles, which recognizes Rwanda among Africa’s leading emerging domiciliation jurisdictions.

Minister @tesirusagara today received British Robinson, Chair for Africa at the Milken Institute, for a courtesy call. Discussions focused on deepening collaboration in investment promotion, connecting Rwanda’s institutional investors with sovereign wealth and pension fund networks, supporting African fund managers to mobilise capital for SMEs, and human capital development. #Rwanda

This evening at State House in Nairobi, President Kagame joined other leaders for a State Dinner hosted by President William Ruto of Kenya and First Lady Rachel Ruto in honour of Heads of State and Government attending the #AfricaForward Summit.

Minister @yusuf_murangwa yesterday presented the Budget Framework Paper (BFP) to the Parliament. The BFP outlines government spending priorities for the 2026/27 fiscal year anchored in strategic investments across sectors vital to national development. These include but are not limited to energy, infrastructure agriculture, manufacturing, healthcare, social protection, and education. The framework reflects continued commitment to inclusive growth, economic resilience, and improved livelihoods for all Rwandans.
