Buckingham Palace has confirmed King Charles will not issue an Easter message this year. If this is True then I’m sorry I’ve lost all faith and hope for the Monarchy!

Mad Miliband genuinely believes that countries are looking at the UKs sky high energy prices in some sort of amazement. Is he really that delusional?

@peterrhague @ValidScience Europe depended on US to provide bulk of munitions to Ukraine. Other than a few tanks our contribution is mainly throw £ at Ukraine to buy weapons. We moaned about Iran for yrs, carping from the sidelines, but offered little other than resistance, we now wonder why he's pissed?

There are instances where the President has wrongly insulted allies, but this is not one of them. This is near glorious. This is the way of men. I'm still stunned that several NATO countries denied us the mundane logistical use of European air bases for the Iran war. Huge mistake. What were they thinking? It's a crazy thing to do. Anyway, I think outrage at the President's post is best explained by a deficit of masculinity. It might be a good instrument for distinguishing between rational Trump critics and TDS cases.

@julianHjessop It's government profiteering - their £ take has increased significantly from the rise in prices, they can cut back to the original expected revenue and give all drivers some respite. Virtually every facet of Gov spending is already 'targeted', it's time to be equitable to all.

This won't be popular, but IMHO the UK government is right to resist calls to slash fuel duty (at least for motorists)... ⛽️ 1⃣ higher prices are the least bad way to manage demand in the face of a supply shock 2⃣ petrol prices are still not particularly high in real terms 👇

At today's @G7 talks with @bankofengland Andrew Bailey and @Ed_Miliband, I reiterated the need for a swift resolution in the Middle East. This is not our war and we won't be drawn into it, but its economic impacts are global - we must work with partners to strengthen resilience.

🇩🇪Absolute masterclass in road discipline on the German Autobahn! When traffic comes to a standstill, drivers instantly shift left and right to create a Rettungsgasse, a crystal-clear emergency corridor right down the middle, so ambulances, fire trucks, and rescue vehicles can fly through at full speed. It’s the law in Germany and Austria, and it literally saves lives. This is how you do it!

LibDem MP Max Wilkinson has said the quiet part out loud. His problem with X is that ordinary people have a voice on contentious issues, like immigration which is a “really easy way that they couldn't in the past". Diversity is our “strength” unless it’s diversity of opinion.

So as I’m now 31, I’m doing my annual net worth post 😊 S&S ISA = £189,527.84 S&S GIA = £15,068.57 Cash ISA = £46,252.87 Crypto = £24,259.14 HYSA = £17,816.00 Premium Bonds = £6,000 Current Account = £8,528.25 Credit Cards = -£296.42 TOTAL = £307,156.25 This is a 15.89% increase on last year which I’m very happy with 😊 I do have a workplace pension but as it’s a defined benefit pension it’s harder to list above Obviously with the markets being down at the moment that has brought down my net worth by a bit in terms of stocks and crypto I’m currently sitting on a high % of cash as i filled my ISA this financial year but come the 6th April I will be depositing £20k straight into the market - so hoping this dip lasts a bit longer 🤞🏻

The UK produces around 5–6 million tonnes of salt per year, supporting industries worth tens of billions, from chemicals and water treatment to food processing and pharmaceuticals. The UK chemicals sector alone contributes £30 billion+ to the economy, and salt is a foundational feedstock for it. It’s also used in 90% of medicines, underpins winter road safety, and supports thousands of skilled jobs across the North West and Yorkshire. If domestic production collapses, we don’t just import salt. We export jobs, supply chain security, and industrial capability. Ed Miliband isn’t protecting the economy, he’s dismantling it, piece by piece

If you study the rise and fall of empires the two most important things are ships and salt. Now the UK barely has either.

@2147mill Flats are the poor cousins of property investment. Typically, houses create 2-5x higher growth. Flats are more volatile/prone to stagnation due to leases, service charges etc. Since 2018, a flat might seen gains of £10k–£30k (or loss in your case), while houses gained £40-100k.

@Artemisfornow This 5.1% breach (Mar 2026) marks the first time in 18 years it has returned to those levels (2008 financial crises) reflecting significantly renewed pressure on UK borrowing costs. Rachel's financial buffer from the last budget has dissolved in front of her eyes. We are FUBAR'd

UK 10 year yields just broke through 5%. Even the markets know the UK is teetering on the precipice! Borrowing costs are out of control, the economy is wankered (technical term) but Labour still can’t concede we MUST drill! Do you see how insane this now is?
