4. Khira Nagar Station Ground work for Entry/Exit has begun here as well. There is no space on the main road, so one Entry/Exit will be on adjacent road.

This is new for Mumbai and western India in general. Usually blessed with sea, Sahyadris and South West monsoon, coastal Maharashtra climate has always been amazing for its latitude and with plentiful water. And while Mumbai homes have never had enough water that was usually a matter of capacity not availability. For water to not be available would be a disaster for this city. Mumbai desperately needs to start increasing tree cover while it still can. The urban heat profile is now several orders magnitude than it was before. Enough to change the weather and not for the better. We have to make the city smooth and green and quiet. If the trees go, the salt will go straight from the sea into your face. Like in Mad Max.

@zoru75 I waited for about 20 minutes hoping at Rashtriya udyan to get a direct train to Andheri West, but only Kashigaon-bound metros were arriving. The direct train used to be much more comfortable. Now, we have to change at Dahisar East, which makes the journey less convenient.

Line 9 possible.
2B. No chance before 2029 end. Lot of work pending
2030-32 opening for Line 6 and Line 4. That too being optimistic.

By 2027 end, hopefully we will see complete Line 9 and 2B opening. Line 9 - Bhayander to CSMIA Line 2 - Dahisar East to Mankhurd (via Andheri West and BKC) Both lines interfacing with Line 3 at CSMIA and BJC respectively. It will be like three railway networks running in parallel.

@Good__old_days @Mumbai2PuneEway Well, practically and technically speaking heavy vehicles should benefit more from this missing link. Heavy vehicles struggle to climb the ghats and navigate through the curves. To add speed to logistics it is key to allow heavy vehicles on missing link.

@Explorer_Yash Lot of people who were using loop line would have switched to alternatives, not necessarily cars. In past, I have also seen people going from Goregaon West to Andheri East on loop line instead of taking L1 route. Many are going to miss this convenience, but maybe adapt later.

Took metro from Dahisar E towards Gundavli at 9 AM today
Never used to get seat in metro. Now metro is coming from Mira road & also people coming from Borivali W, so it shd be more crowded.
But got seat today. Have ppl switched back to cars since direct connection was broken?
