@MyNamesGuy @BigBrotherWatch Made the mistake of buying an Apple iPod some years ago, cost me a fortune. A few years later, obsolete with the functionality of a cheap mp3 player. They even fixed it, so you couldn't download apps from 3rd parties. Now use it as a paperweight, overpriced crap.

Nicola Sturgeon, Peter Murrell, and Colin Beattie were the three signatories on the SNP’s accounts during the period of the embezzlement (2010–2022). They were the three people whose signatures formally approved and signed off the party’s annual financial statements submitted to the Electoral Commission.

With Murrell now guaranteed to go down, whither Sturgeon? The former first minister has hilariously described being bought shed loads of jewellery as ‘profound personal trauma.’ She is still trying to maintain that all of this has come as a terrible shock and betrayal. We are being asked to take seriously the image of Sturgeon having to step over the boxes of jewellery, the crates of Mont Blanc pens and the new Jag and luxury motorhome just to gain entrance to their home and then ignoring all of them to ask Peter whether he did anything interesting at work that day. Perhaps the rumours are wrong, and Nicola just gets by as the least curious woman on the face of the planet. ✍️ Madeline Grant Article | spectator.com/article/is-nic…

Today the Scottish Parliament will vote on whether Scotland should have the right to decide her future. Whatever your view on independence, this is a basic democratic principle. Scotland’s future should be up to the people who live here, not politicians at Westminster.

@Artemisfornow While it sounds like a good idea, I will be interested to hear what the definition of "social media" is. For instance - does YouTube count as social media?

In order to ban under 16 year olds from social media be under no illusions. Every child will have to have a digital ID (handy that's in the schools and welfare bill from birth.) Every adult will have to have a digital ID to prove they arent a child (handy that Starmer has one ready to go and the pipework is now all in place) And in order to stop children under 16 using a VPN to bypass the restriction, it will also mean every adult and child must have digital ID in order to use one. And this means that every single time you access the internet you can be tracked and monitored. The good news is that some children will not have access to social media (many will find a way round it) and of course, it’s fantastic news for all governments and global organisations. Free speech was always the cover... it's always been about freedom of information. An uninformed population is far easier to feed with propaganda. The knock on effect is that free speech becomes part of the censorship of information. In an “if they dont know it, they cant complain about it" type of way. No, digital ID won’t be mandatory… you just won’t be able to live a normal life without one.

@NoContextBrits Anyone else notice how his mate swapped his bugle for that trombone at the end - "sorry, I've always played trombone - I gave your bugle to the ambulance crew..."

When SNP supporters who’d donated to a fund for a second independence referendum campaign began asking questions about where all the money was, their then-leader Nicola Sturgeon was not happy. Sturgeon, a politician who prefers to engage from the moral high-ground, left colleagues in no doubt that, as far as she was concerned, there was nothing further to discuss. Even as the then-leader of the SNP was briskly insisting there was nothing to worry about, her now-estranged husband was absolutely rinsing the party’s bank accounts.  On Monday morning, Peter Murrell – chief executive of the SNP between 2001 to 2023 – pleaded guilty to embezzling £400,310.65 between 12 August 2010 and 19 October 2022. ✍️ Euan McColm Article | spectator.com/article/nicola…

@MerkMilly @snobcollective @AKBrews That sounds a bit harsh, I can understand how it could be a bit distracting and it could also be a health and safety issue if the mice were using fire, but as light entertainment I see no issue with having some mice juggling in the workplace.
