@PollySpin They act like you spend 4hrs doing laundry when it's just taking the 10 minutes to throw shit in the washer/dryer that you would've wasted chatting with someone in the office

@SemperVigilant1 @1_2MOA Yeah idk what “individual sport” even means here. The govt doesn’t stack up your money and hand it back to you. It might feel that way, and in some sense it was sold to the public that way, but now the program is in deep financial trouble as a result.

I think Dave Ramsey is wrong about cars. There is no way to assuredly buy a "cheap and reliable" used car. You can gamble on one, but you can't be sure that's what you'll get. It's smarter to buy new. It's *extremely* hard to save money without predictable monthly expenses.

@NEETzscheIDDQD It’s not a handout. It’s a promise. If you contribute, you get to take the money out. You just want to rob people because you’re a grifter.

@NoahRevoy Much of the hatred women have for men is simply from them thinking "why aren't you as neurotic as me"

same. this year my rent went up $237 per month so i’m moving bc yall got me fucked up. it started at $900 in 2019, very outdated and now they want $1369 w no changes to the apt. unreal
Gemma@windupgemma

My last rent increase was because the landlord noticed that the market rate for the area had gone up Not because his costs went up, but because other landlords were charging more in my area and my landlord felt left out and thought I should pay him more for the same thing

I’ve been married for five years, and my wife does most of the cooking and cleaning. I hardly do those things. Why? Because she cooks three types of meals on the weekend that last from Monday to Friday. She only does laundry on weekends. She only cleans on weekends. We also do our shopping only on weekends. I had to help create these routines for her because she kept complaining about the “mental load” crap. Women create a lot of this mental load for themselves and then complain that motherhood is hard. No, you made motherhood hard on yourselves. She doesn’t have to deep-clean the floor late at night. She can do it tomorrow. She doesn’t have to do laundry late at night either. Laundry can even be done on the weekend. She doesn’t have to wash the dishes immediately; they can wait until tomorrow.

I suggested that if each resident chipped in $2k toward a lobby remodel, our unit values would increase by at least 10x that. The room erupted with uncontrollable screams, and one guy literally fell out of his chair in pure anger. Welcome to HOA!
StripMallGuy@realEstateTrent

How can a Homeowners Association possibly be qualified to manage a $100,000,000 real estate asset? Reality is, getting involved with my HOA was one of the stupidest decisions I’ve ever made, and the entire HOA system needs to be completely overhauled from scratch. They especially can’t stand the real estate folks, and you make instant enemies for making an actual intelligent suggestion.

stuff like this is where the US beats japan. if you walk into a store in japan & ask to buy a menu they'll be confused, talk it over for ten minutes, and then say "it's not explicitly covered in our 32647-page training manual so no". in the US they'll say lmao sure for $5 i guess
Katsuhiro Harada@Harada_TEKKEN

I finally made it to WAFFLE HOUSE. The staff are always friendly, and when I asked if they would sell me a menu, they sold me one for $5. Next time, I’ll be back at 3 a.m. for fight time. #WAFFLEHOUSE

In other words, he's saying that the entirety of young people have embraced the extremist politics of either the far-right or far-left (which apparently is advocating mass murder). This is the quality of discourse that gets 19,000 likes on rightwing Twitter these days.
Roman Helmet Guy@romanhelmetguy

Gonna try to explain this to tech CEOs again: Young Americans are pissed. They feel betrayed. Half have embraced the far right & want to cut off your access to cheap foreign labor. The other half have embraced the far left & want to cut off your head. One side will win. Choose.

This retard bought a home four years after the Median age (29 he bought at 33) and now wants that to be the new minimum because he didn't want to work all that hard. Many of my coworkers worked massive amounts of OT to get a downpayment then bought homes at 21-27 Machining. Below the Median(29) at the time. Even if you work absurd amounts of Overtime, unless you get into Oil and Gas or Telecom the BEST you can hope for as a young man is buying a extremely small starter home at 30. These people are fucking Losers projecting onto the next Generation. Every single one of them could have gone into the Trades at 18 and bought a home at 23.
Darren@RogueDarren

Zoomers on here are like "I'm 27 and can't buy a $400k house or afford to spend $50 on doordash, the system is rigged!" Like kid, I had 2 roommates till 29, and then 1 till 33 when I bought my own house. Cooked and meal prepped 90% of what I ate for 20 years. Y'all are bitches

I'm not the first person to notice this. But amazing how much anti-Indian hate there is on this site, typified by claims they are somehow monopolizing the tech industry, discriminating against whites, etc. It's very similar to traditional anti-Semitic tropes, and is equally baseless. I've dealt extensively with Indians in academia, and some in tech (my parents are both tech industry veterans) and there is no real evidence to support these claims. They - like traditional anti-Semitism, are also based on a flawed zero-sum view of the economy that underlies a lot of ethno-nationalism and bigotry, as well as a lot of awful far-left ideology: reason.com/volokh/2026/04…

Why would you buy a home for $1,500+ more per month than renting. The same house, same neighborhood, leveraged at the peak of the market. Explain it to me.
