@Gamenadian @boinksi This. Ninja has always been obsessive with viewership. He and his wife literally will clock how many hours hes not streaming and how much potential money is lost by each hour. I'm not joking or trying to be mean, its something they've stated.

@boinksi Thats easy to say when streaming isnt your income. When it is, you gotta play what puts food on the table. Especially when you're a smaller guy. I doubt ninja is struggling financially but he still wants to make money.

@DSR_Joker @TheStrxggler Its not even about the competitive nature of the game though. He suspects it deals with how the visuals are in the game. Whether thats true or not, he saw his viewership decline. Ninja has always been a person that is obsessive over his viewer count. ( No insult, just stating)

@N1GHTFADE @TheStrxggler Yeah, some games are just more watchable than others. I have to imagine extraction shooters set in a weird place. There's a lot of down time, but unlike Arc (from my understanding) Marathon is JUST competitive enough that you can't treat it casually and just BS with Chat.

@TheStrxggler @DSR_Joker While true, that wasnt his point. He was just stating that its not a good game to stream. He said he likes the game, but doesn't see the point in streaming a game that isnt fun for people to watch, as daily lower viewership clearly indicates this.

@DSR_Joker Because they can't. Look. They can call him washed all they want but he did bring up a good point about Shroud and his smaller and smaller view counts on this game compared to when he plays Arc Raiders. The interest of this game is slowly but surely deflating.

🚨Breaking: Someone patched GIMP to look and feel exactly like Adobe Photoshop. Same keyboard shortcuts. Same tool layout. Same everything. It's called PhotoGIMP and it's free. Here's exactly what it changes: → Every keyboard shortcut mapped to match Adobe's official Photoshop layout → Tools reorganized to match the Photoshop panel positions you already know → Canvas space maximized -- same default workspace as Photoshop → Custom splash screen and app icon so it feels like a real product → Pre-defined canvas templates matching Photoshop defaults → Works on Windows, macOS, and Linux -- installs in under a minute Here's the wildest part: Adobe Photoshop costs $600/year. GIMP is free. PhotoGIMP makes it feel like Photoshop. The only reason most designers don't switch is muscle memory every shortcut is in a different place and it feels wrong from the first click. This patch fixes that entirely. Ctrl+Z undo. Ctrl+J duplicate layer. Ctrl+T transform. All of it. Download a zip. Extract to your home folder. Done. 6.7K GitHub stars. Works with GIMP 3.0+. 100% Open Source. GPL-3.0 License. (Link in the comments)

@WeboQueso @NTurtle812 @PaulTassi True, but they also were a success with how many copies they sold upfront, which resulted in a profit rather than a loss. So, it still comes down to cost overall and whether or not its turning a profit of any kind.

@trendingviewsHQ @ibetonme2 @JakeSucky Aside from my problems with Bungie themselves these days, I would have been more open to trying the game if it wasnt another extraction shooter, and a hero based one at that....

@NTurtle812 @PaulTassi Well, both, because it always comes down to cost of the game. Especially if the game has dedicated servers they are paying for to run it. Thats why even with the success of BF6 (because by all means, it was a success), when the player numbers died down, layoffs followed...

@N1GHTFADE @PaulTassi Are you talking about day 1 releases max payer count? Because I'm talking about after a couple weeks and now the game has found its dedicated player base. Also thank you for answering.

@NTurtle812 @PaulTassi Serious answer, it depends on the cost of development. An Indie dev studio that barely spent $1 mil or less to make their game, 10,000 players is an easy success. AAA Studio spending millions to make their game? Well... Definitely need a LOT more than 5-10 thousand players...

@PaulTassi Genuine question what do you consider a good stable player count for a multiplayer game for me its somewhere between 5-10 thousand.

@2mEaats_ @willofD2016 @EndymionYT Okay, I know text can be hard to discern tone, but I'm literally just laying out the state of things per the convo. I really dont care about the outcome of either game anymore, but the topics surrounding this have been engaging and interesting. Bungie does deserve this though 😂

Exactly. People think people are just randomly hating on Marathon to fail, no. It’s coming from people who played Bungie games like Destiny before & have been proven time & again that Bungie doesn’t care about delivering what you want. They killed Destiny 2 effectively for this. So no it’s not some random “hurrrr I hate Marathon cause it’s cool” no. They gave up on the people who brought them success. Undervalued, under delivered & abused their good will for too long. So people walked away. Anything else is cope & they know it. Marathon is failing because of Bungie being Bungie. That’s all it is.
Lumpy@LumpyTheCook

In case you’re wondering where all those people praying for Marathon’s failure came from: They came from Destiny 2

@2mEaats_ @willofD2016 @EndymionYT And just to clarify, people are allowed to like Marathon. I've only memed on it to people who decided to attack me just cause I said I wasnt a fan of it myself. I mean, people really out here acting like their families got murdered over this... Its just a game, not that deep...

@2mEaats_ @willofD2016 @EndymionYT I mean, whats wrong with them actually supporting both games? Personally, I was hoping they would have pulled it off. Warframe devs are making Soulframe while still providing for Warframe. Smaller studio too. Anyway, Bungie definitely dug their own hole on this is all I'm sayin.

@willofD2016 @EndymionYT 3/ So yeah, the backlash at this point is really just a tipping point I'd day of people finally breaking after years of broken promises and lies. The hate is definitely more towards Bungie, and not the game Marathon itself.

@willofD2016 @EndymionYT 2/ Bungie said: "Wait!! Dont go anywhere!! We still have plans to actively give more story, and continue with this game!!"..... And yet, here we are. Destiny clearly fitting the meme of the drowning kid and the parent holding the other one up.

@N1GHTFADE @thurman193 @Digging4Freedom @AdamCrigler Honestly probably every single D2-based Marathon hater would probably be glad they had the game if D2 were doing well because it would draw away a lot of the extreme hardcore PvP crowd from Crucible (I think. Maybe. I don't really PvP much.)

I wonder how it would be if Marathon was made by a no name company. Many comments I've seen aren't even anti Marathon, they are anti bungie. The obsession with Marathon's downfall feels borderline psychotic. As if bungie killed these people's dogs and they are John Wicking the internet comments.

@thurman193 @GilbertTheGray @Digging4Freedom @AdamCrigler 2/2: So, the backlash at this point isn't all that surprising. People kind of reached a breaking point on the broken promises I believe. I honestly was hoping they could have pulled it off to be a multi game studio... They dug this hole themselves though. 0 sympathy for that

@thurman193 @GilbertTheGray @Digging4Freedom @AdamCrigler 1/2: I would agree with you, except Bungie themselves pulled their usual schtick. Promised that both Marathon and Destiny could exist, as they intended to move forward as a multi game company. (Similar to Warframe devs making Soulframe, with clear intentions to develop for both)
