Great visiting NASA’s Independent Verification & Validation Facility in West Virginia with @SenCapito and spending time with the workforce where engineers and software experts ensure the systems behind our missions are safe, secure, and ready for flight. Their work may happen behind the scenes, but it’s absolutely mission-critical to everything we do, from human spaceflight to deep space exploration. Grateful to meet the team helping make NASA’s missions possible.

The crew had an intentionally quiet week ahead of their mission around the Moon. Teams at @NASAKennedy have been extra busy preparing for rollout of the rocket and hosting a flight readiness review. Teams in the review determined we are go for launch on no earlier than April 1.

We hot fired New Glenn’s GS2 serial number five last night, with the BE-3U engines ramping up to 175K of thrust. Love seeing the continuous flow of GS2s on the Space Coast!

Today, we’re launching NASA Force with @USOPM. Returning to the Moon requires restoring core competencies in our civil servant workforce. This program will recruit top aerospace, software, systems, and other critical technical talent for approximately 2-year terms at NASA. This will strengthen in-house engineering excellence, close skill gaps, and deepen partnerships with industry. We’re investing in our people to deepen America’s leadership in space.

Just like Apollo 9, Artemis III will test next-generation hardware and integrated operations in 2027 before Artemis IV lands on the lunar surface in 2028. By flying Moon rockets at an annual cadence, we develop the muscle memory, knowledge, and confidence required to land American astronauts on the Moon and push further into space.
NASA History Office@NASAhistory

On March 3, 1969, NASA launched the Apollo 9 mission featuring the first crewed flight of the Apollo lunar module. It was a vital step in preparation for Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin's lunar landing that July. With a similar mission profile, Artemis III will test next-generation hardware and processes in low-Earth orbit in 2027 for the return of astronauts to the Moon in 2028.

President Trump gave the world the Artemis Program, and NASA and our partners have the plan to deliver. We will standardize architecture where possible, add missions and accelerate flight rate, execute in an evolutionary way, and safely return American astronauts to the Moon, this time to stay. This is the NASA that once changed the world. This is the NASA that will do it again.
