The established laws against paganism in the 4th and 5th centuries banned worship, temples and practices, but it had not yet advanced to the level of banning philosophy. The Neoplatonic schools were always under pressure and were always walking a fine line, but had some elite patrons among the well educated elite which helped shield them. That would come to an end with the 529 decree by Justinian, which banned pagans from teaching or running schools. The Neoplatonic school in Athens is the best known, but there were many other local schools across the empire which were shuttered. Property and donations were seized by the state and teachers were given the choice to convert or be exiled. Seven teachers went into exile in Persia rather than converting. In a peace treaty that the Byzantines were forced into with Persia in 532, Khosrow I included the clause that the philosophers would be allowed to return to their homes and not be forced to convert to Christianity.

@LeDumezilien @TimONeill007 @FortressLugh Imperial decrees were seldom followed by administrative officials outside the imperial courts of Constantinople and Antioch. See, for example, the persistence of anti-Christian paganism at the Neoplatonic Academy of Athens.

Pakistan: Hindu man dies after chased away from hospital, stripped, beaten and 'thrown' in drain The sequence of events is deeply disturbing: 1. Alam Kohli was initially denied treatment at a hospital in Umerkot district. 2. He was then chased away from the hospital premises. 3. A police constable stripped, beat him severely and thrown into a drain. 4. Alam succumbed to his injuries shortly after This incident underscores the systemic discrimination and vulnerability faced by Hindus and other minority communities in the country. The case raises serious questions about Police brutality and abuse of power. The overall safety and rights of religious minorities in Pakistan Activists and human rights organizations are demanding a thorough investigation and justice for Alam Kohli. Will this inhuman treatment of Hindus in Pakistan ever stop? Has the situation in Pakistan for Hindus improved since this incident? #Hindusunderattack #Pakistan #ReligiousFreedom #HumanRights #hindugenocide @HinduGenocide_ @HinduPACT @NikhilChandwani @HinduAmerican Nimittekam Nikhil Chandwani

The 'Secular' class of India, post Partition of India, created a safe space for Muslim intellectuals, politicians, Artists where they were awarded a permanent victimhood card. In return, Muslims gave them their votes. In this agreement, a Muslim of India could be anything but a villian. He could be the gentle Raheem Chacha, the patriotic Musalmaan who did not owe anyone his certificate of patriotism(even after his forefathers participated in the Partitition). Even when the Muslim was conducting terror attacks, the blame was always of the Hindu who provoked him. The gangsters and Underworld Don's too could always blame the Hindu for making the criminals that they had become. All this was not questioned, because Secularism. The Secular protection was given in every sphere of life, from Academia to Newspapers to Cinema. The Muslim character was never negative and even if he was, you know whose fault it was and if at all you asked for accountability, the 'Secular' Hindu would stand up for the 'Persecuted' Muslim and you condemned yourself for even thinking of committing the ultimate blasphemy, of going against the secular politics of India, which was Hindu Majority vs Muslim Minority. Post 2014, this 'truth' started to be challenged in Indian politics and the alarm bells were set off by the 'Secular' lobby, who warned India that this was eroding it's 'sacred' fabric. So post 2014, the leftists and Muslim intellgensia, Pakistan lovers, along with Islamists within India made it their life goal to defeat this 'communal' wave and restore back the 'secular' wave. However, as years passed, more and more Indians, started to question this 'secular' narrative and with every passing year, the defenders of the old 'secular' guard became even more combative and unhinged in their assertivness of the 'good old secular' India. Now post Dhurandhar, which is just not a movie, but a cultural phenomenon, the meltdown is reaching crazy levels Indian by citizenship Journalist, Arfa Khanum Sherwani, goes gaga over Pakistan(the state which her forefathers created, the state which is build on anti-India hate and the state which wants to bleed India by a thousand cuts) This happiness and celebration by Arfa of one of ISI's top intellectual assetts, Syed Muzammil Shah, shows the desperation of those in India, who will not stop at any cost to take the mindspace of the critical mass of India back to where the Hindu is always wrong and Muslim is always a victim and even if a Muslim is wrong, it is the Hindu's fault. The Muslim has no agency and his agency is represented by Hindu Leftists who hate Hindus.

The figures on the map below are fake. Consensus is that in Europe, between 40-60 thousand people were executed for the charge of witchcraft. Women were more common, but men were also charged. The Holy Roman Empire saw around 25,000 executions. In Britain, the figure is more like 3000. The UK Parliament website states that around 400-500 people were executed for the crime in England. Estimates for Scotland have put the figure at around 2500. In Wales there may have been only 5 executions. This shows there was indeed great regional disparity, with social and religious factors at play. The Protestant movement in Britain was the most fanatical in Scotland, and this played a large role in the terror. On a per-capita basis, more people were executed in Scotland for the "crime" than anywhere else in Europe. Executions and murders related to witchcraft claims still occur today. In Tanzania, for instance, it is estimated that around 500 people accused of witchcraft are killed annually. The majority of the murders are organized by Christian mobs.

Some of the direct incidents of oppression by early Christians based on religion, including the oppression of other Christians of different sects. 317-321: Donatist persecutions (death toll unknown) 325: Exile of Arius and the burning of his books. Possession of Arian writings was punishable by death. 333: renewed Anti-Arian persecution. 346: Renewed Donatist persecution (death toll unknown) 361: Christian mob lynches Arian bishop George of Alexandria. 371: Martin of Tours leads raving bands of religious fanatics across Gaul, smashing sacred shrines, cutting down sacred trees and fighting with locals. 380: All non Nicene forms of Christianity were banned 385: Priscillian executed for heresy - the first person officially executed by the state for not confirming to Orthodox Christian views. 391: Theodosius bans all forms of pagan worship on punishment of death. All temples closed. Widespread destruction seen in the archeological record across the empire. (Death toll unknown) 411-412: Banning of Donatism 415: Hypatia, Alexandrian philosopher, murdered by Christian mob 529: Justinian mandated baptism for all subjects and the property confiscation and execution of anyone found worshipping pagan gods. (Death toll unknown) 529: Neoplatonic Academy of Athens forced to close for heretical views. 633: Visigoths order the forced conversion of all Jews 686: Isle of Wight invaded to exterminate paganism in Britain. Islanders forced to convert after their defeat in battle. 754: Iconoclasm in the Byzantine Empire. Those who refused to destroy icons were beaten, exiled or killed. (Death toll unknown) 782: Charlamagne mass executions for refusal to convert (4500 murdered) 785: Charlamagne mandates universal baptism. Refusal is subject to the death penalty. 843: Byzantines crush the dualist Christian Paulicians (10000+ murdered) 864: Forced conversion of Bulgars. Tribal leaders were rounded up and forced to convert and their entire people with them. (52 refused and were murdered along with their entire families - minimum several hundred killed) I mean, this could really go on forever. I could (and maybe I will) make a two hour documentary just on this topic alone. For many of these events we do not know how many people died. The information is almost entirely recorded by the victors and they don't often care to record such things. The violence and state oppression was across the bord and directed at everyone with a different viewpoint, whether pagan or Christian or Jew. The demand for absolute religious conformity was insane and it went on for a thousand years like this.

The idea that god would wait 13 billion years (universe start) or even 4.5 billion years (earth formation) or even 8 million years (human ancestor identified) or even 300,000 years (modern human identified) before he sent himself down in the guise of his son to be brutally murdered to forgive himself for misdemeanours against himself is too ridiculous to be believed in the 21st century.

All that noise about “milk immersion” in river and environment, but not a word when India becomes top 3 globally in renewable energy. Because the target isn’t the environment, it’s religion. How is adding ~50+ GW in a single year is not worth a debate by andolanjeevis

In practice, Act XXI of 1850 treated Hindu resistance to conversion as a “disability” that colonial courts would no longer honor in matters of property. In 1897, the British state retrospectively renamed this measure the Caste Disabilities Removal Act, folding a very specific pro‑conversion inheritance rule into a broader, and much more flattering, narrative of anti-caste reform. Missionaries had brought "caste" to India!

TIL: Caste disability act of 1850 had not one single word on caste. Zilch, Nada.
