@ColinSpenc4257 About 20 years ago i thought this fashion would soon die out and many would come to regret doing it, but now i look and see more women than ever covered in them. Each to their own. Personally i don't find them attractive. |uckily i'm an ugly sod, so the feeling's probably mutual.

@Johnnypapa64 This is painfully accurate. I have stopped bothering with my doctor's surgery and being in my sixties, i'm sure that doesn't bode well for the future.I'm not a Luddite, but i struggle with the lack of human interaction. There's always nuance when it comes to health.

@RodneyMarshall1 @tearyphantasm I wasn't much of a Columbo fan, but The Waltons was cozy TV for me. Grandpa was the man every boy wanted in his life and every man wanted Anne Francis☺️

A rare exception. As a homicide detective, you cannot expect Lieutenant Columbo to save lives. However, his quick thinking did heroically save Will Geer's Dr Edmund Heideman in A Stitch in Crime. (Spock trying to kill off Grandpa Walton in my alternative universe TV brain.)

@SuzLoNo @NoFarmsNoFoods It sounds like you all earn it. I'm a little long in the tooth now, but those days when i physically worked to exhaustion where the days i truly felt alive. I salute you and i hope there are many more ploughman's dinners in the years to come (And cider, obviously)

@NoFarmsNoFoods We brought in 468 bales in the June heatwave working until past 11pm - with our children and their friend helping - had to keep going as rain was forecast - duly poured at 2am. Ploughmans dinner at 12.30am washed down with cider!

@MorrisBrightMBE Reg always came over as 'one of us', everybody's mate. From the things i've seen and read, he seemed to be a warm and charming man. I'm glad to hear you are able to confirm that. 👍

The late comedy actor and performer Reg Varney was born this day 1916. Remembered especially for The Rag Trade & On the Buses as well as the first person to use a cashpoint back in 1967 I had such fun going to interview him at his home in Devon back in 2002. Lovely, funny man.

Remembering actor, comedian and impersonator Terry-Thomas (Thomas Terry Hoar Stevens), BOTD 1911. A rollercoaster of a career in variety, cabaret, radio, theatre, television and cinema. A unique performer who changed his stage name several times and created an entire persona. 1/

@WalkAlanWalk @afneil My sentiments exactly. It's a one line gag that the annoying bloke at work still tells days after everyone's heard it. This is just an ego trip while everyone else is desperate for something of substance. Same with the monster raving loony party. The joke was last funny in 1972

He's the new Steve Bray. It was funny for five minutes but now they're just taking the piss out of the voters. Imagine you live in Clacton, you hate Farage, he calls an election, finally you can get rid of him, but no, the fuckwits won't stand and let a two bob joke candidate take centre stage. As ever, Farage is a prick but these fuckers are worse.

@BenJohn45874515 @Manhattan_TV @freesat_tv @rewindtvuk Unless you simply can't live without live sport, i really can't think of too many reasons to keep paying those huge monthly subscription. There's plenty of classics on Rewind, That's TV and the like and if the latest stuff is a must, Netflix is still a cheaper option. 👍mate.

I've managed to break free from the Virgin Media TV contract. With this lovely @Manhattan_TV @freesat_tv box, I'm now enjoying the world of subscription free satellite TV. Tonight I'm watching @rewindtvuk where it's the brilliant John Le Mesurier in Doctor At Large.

@Ms_Joanne_F @HarryVerso55138 @archivetvmus71 Ronnie Corbett was Scottish, so it would seem he was okay with Scots in general. In a fairly long career it would be almost impossible not to have a few 'moments'.

@HarryVerso55138 @archivetvmus71 The Mail subsequently published Barker’s response to the “award”, which included the line “Best wishes to you up there from us down here in the real world”. He seemed to have something of a downer on the Scots: perhaps a bad experience at the Glasgow Empire?

@ClassicAdvertz I knew every face and instantly put a name to it. I've slowly fell out of love with football in the last 10 years and although i didn't watch last night, i checked the team sheet and recognised less than half. I don't think i'll ever feel the same about modern football. 😞

@London_W4 Now just imagine what the future will be like as of next spring. Every word we say and every like or retweet will be compiled against our names and anything that comes close to that magical line will result in a knock at the door. It will be like today, but on double steroids.

I am having a drink this evening with a friend in a Chiswick pub. Two policemen have just come into the pub and asked me to step outside. I have stepped outside and they have threatened me because I tweeted about a councillor banning seating outside pubs in Chiswick. They admit on video (watch it!) that I did not break the law at all. They came to threaten me. To warn me off tweeting about councillors and the council. This is modern Britain. This is the police state. Please, please, please watch this video. It does involve me using very bad language, but this has got to be seen. Police coming out to threaten someone who hasn’t committed a crime. I’m fuming.

@Robin_Askwith I've honestly never seen Star wars, but i've watched every instalment in the continuing saga of the confessions franchise. I'm no expert on statistics, but i'd say that makes your films more successful. Obviously that's based on a small sample, but i think it proves a point🤔
