@Gabriel64869839 Annual camp in Texas 06 RWxY operated 10 ANG Abrams with hardly any training beforehand. No live firing though. But back in the UK at that time we were only given a max 2 CR's Thankfully times have changed and they allow us to borrow more CR2's. But as you say things must change.

@thinkdefence The only time I fired one of those, the second stage motor failed to fire, the whole lot splashed into the sea. It was a bit disappointing as I want the prize of the tie and propeller 😂

@WeymouthSapper This was the last weekend on Rigs before we disbanded

@NDackham Shame they never came here permanently when 28 closed.

Loved to see this happening today. Not sure we could even cross the Fleet nowadays.

Teamwork Makes the Dreamwork. Armoured Engineers use a Chieftain AVLB to combination bridge a second 26 metre Close Support Bridge (CSB) onto M2 Amphibious Rigs that are being used as pontoons. On the far bank is the famous shingle of Chesil Beach, Dorset. #MobilitySupport

@WeymouthSapper Wasnt aware M2's were take to the fleet before 78 regt took their's in the final days of the Regiment

@thinkdefence It was a very adaptable system, but had far too many working parts and needed a fair amount of maintenance in units. I think at one point, we had to put the plastic water tanks on JAMES 🤪

@CliveWardauthor Keeping a water bottle I can understand but a poncho roll?

WATER BOTTLE BULLIES AND BULLSHIT 2
I was rummaging about in my garage the other day, looking for a few old copies of Readers Wives, when I came across my old 58 pattern indestructible water bottle at the bottom of a MFO box. It instantly put a smile on my face. I hadn’t seen that since 1988.
Then suddenly I realised it still had water in it. Shit!! My face dropped and I started to panic. That f**ker has been in there for decades. F**king hell!! You had to have a refined set of taste buds to appreciate the taste of the water coming out of one of these things back in the day. What the f**k would it be like now, thirty-five years later? I think it was from my last exercise.
Go on, said the devil on my shoulder, open it, release the demons, have a sip and see what happens. No, I said, there are some things I'm grateful to no longer have to experience, and that’s one of them thanks!
That water could have turned into anything, A WEAPON OF MASS DESTRUCTION… should I cordon off the area and set up an ICP, inform the M.O.D?
In the end the Devil won of course, F**k it, what could go wrong. I slowly turned the cap; it was like a scene from Danger UXB.
Suddenly those smells came flooding out. The essence of gopping water purification tablets, CS gas, fullers earth and dry crackers, chlorine, pussers rum. Hexi blocks, screech, cam cream, biscuits brown, tadpoles’ hot black plastic, piss. I started to feel faint.
I decided the best thing to do was to screw it back up again and carefully put it back in my MFO box for another 35 years. I’ll be 100 years old by then, what a birthday present. Wait, forget that, I’ve just realised the mother in law is coming round for her Thursday afternoon cuppa…time for a little experiment I think

BULLIES AND BULLSHIT 2 Warning! If easily offended, I really do advise you not to read this book. clivewardauthor.com

@WeymouthSapper @thinkdefence Looks like a short wheeled version of Ranger that was built on the Granby.

@thinkdefence It looks like a locally manufactured decoy.

@thinkdefence Not sure why it ever went. Huge mistake.

A few years old, but I still think we should

@WeymouthSapper @thinkdefence It's like submarine warfare in the early days when the Royal Navy thought it was considered ungentlemanly.
English

@thinkdefence But annoyingly, we’ll have the best counter measures but with zero appetite for any form of attack drone.
English

@RoyalNavy @815NAS Last time I fired at one of those Banshee's with a Starstreak, it was designed not to be hit.🤣
English

"...Target destroyed..."💥
There's an extra string to the bow of Wildcat helicopters after a Martlet missile - designed for use against surface targets - was used for the first time against an aerial drone, shot down by @815NAS off Wales.
