Lots of people asking me where I was when Sunak announced the election. I was inside, because it was raining. Only an idiot would have gone out in that... #GeneralElection

Do protest marches achieve anything? Or do they just cause polarisation?

@TheWellingtonP In Northern Ireland, it is of course more complex... State schools either Grammar or High/ secondary schools, are mostly protestant and "integrated." Then there are Catholic Schools that are mostly private Grammar schools

In the United Kingdom, there are 3 categories of education for children (broadly speaking) Which did you attend?

@stellacreasy If it is ok to kill the unborn this late in pregnancy why do you hide from that fact? At least have the guts to say how far along the pregnancy was rather than saying "without following correct procedures." For reference 32-34wks, term is 39 and a still birth is 24 weeks onwards

The average prison sentence for a violent offence in England is 18 months. A woman who had an abortion without following correct procedures just got 28 months under an 1868 act- we need urgent reform to make safe access for all women in England, Scotland and wales a human right.

@FightHypocrisy1 Just looked at local elections since 1997, handwritten, but shows a change since then for sure. Unionist 44.1% down to 38.1%, Nationalist 36.2% up to 39.6% while ALP is now at 13.3% compared to 6.7%, it is obvious that Unionist votes are moving to Alliance while Nat grow slightly

@NIDave_ Exactly. The opposite is also true yet that is how they think the nationalist vote is increasing when it isn’t. Percentages are essentially meaningless. A vote could drop but the percentage share increase due to how the other side did. That’s the point I’m making.

Amazing they keep sharing this image to prove their march towards a United Ireland when it shows a 9% drop in the Nationalist vote since 2017 and a 12% drop in the last year. And they think this election was a victory?

@FightHypocrisy1 I totally agree that turnout in various areas can change the votes and shift the Nationalist Vs Unionist outlook, we should therefore look at local to local, General to General, and Assembly to Assembly for solid comparisons (1)

Glad to see a SF MLA celebrate the passing of a law by "occupiers" Westminister... Meanwhile, DUP say they can't meet in Stormont to pass this because they need assurances that only the Assembly in NI, not the EU make laws for NI...so tell Westminster to make this law instead!
Deirdre Hargey@DeirdreHargey

He did it! Young Dáithí makes history as Dáithí's law passes through Westminster. This legislation will make a huge impact to all those waiting for life saving surgeries! Maith thú agus comhghairdeas to Dáithí & his incredibly strong family for their hard work 💗💗

Superb progress for a difficult experience! It's estimated about 1 in 8 pregnancies will end in miscarriage. Reminder a miscarriage is the loss of a pregnancy up to 24 weeks. 224,675 abortions under 24 weeks gestation took place last year in Great Britain...
