The same way you can "turn" zoom action, you can "turn" a pindown.
Unorthodox off-ball screening like this is hard to recognize & difficult to prevent.

Tyler Hansbrough (@THANS50) called it!! 👀
“The last name that a lot of people really haven’t talked about publicly, who I think could actually get some momentum, is Mike Malone.”
“We’re on these guys. We stress them in practice. We put a lot of pressure on them on a daily basis to do the right things, to do everything hard, to do everything tough, to be prepared because that’s what it takes to win a game like this,” Dan Hurley
The fearless heart of relentless competitors has no fear.
"Tyler Herro lived in the gym..
I walked in one morning and he was sleeping in the locker room on a chair because he didn't wanna walk across the street to the lodge..
If you don't live in the gym you're never gonna make it" ~ @CoachCalArk#PMSLive
Texas head coach Sean Miller at halftime vs Gonzaga
"The most aggressive team in the second half, the team that wants to go to San Jose, the team who's gonna steal it from the other motherf***er, that's who's gonna win."
Love the simplicity and speed that Tennessee gets into their actions after breaking the press. It plays into the idea of eliminating the pause on offense and the difficulty that brings to the defense.

🚨 If you INITIATE your OFFENSE through:
Floppy, try a RIP screen.
DHO, try a 'Get'.
Back cut, try a wide pin.
Wide pin, try a zoom.
Low entry, try a guard on the low block.
Spread PNR, try the guard setting the screen/big handling (inverted PNR).
'Away action', try a flare screen/slip.
Take any offense and invert the initial action (like 'forwards out' Princeton).
This teaches read and react, spacing templates and is extremely tough to guard.
Simply cue for the counters can be thumbs and thumbs down.
Fun way to coach, fun way to play, engages the creative part of the brain and forces learning through decision making.
Micah Shrewsberry and Penn St run an inverted empty side ball screen off of a wide pin decoy action. 👇
